Bible in turn to Psalm 78, Psalms 78. It is right after Psalms 77. Psalm 78 and look in verse 38. In verse 38 says, but he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, destroyed them not. Yet many a time turned He His anger away and did not stir up all His wrath. So God has wrath and God has anger because of what people do and it brings upon them a judgment. Now He talks about this down through here about how many times He bent over backwards for the nation of Israel.

You would think they It would have learned their lesson, but have you ever had children that you could spank them and then they’d turn around and do it again? It’s like it didn’t make any difference. Of course today we don’t chase in our children like that because they’re not that bad. But the Bible does say about this chasing business. But those that are God’s children, God chases. It’s not smoking of so much as like God is going to pour out his wrath upon you.

No, he poured out the wrath of my sin upon Jesus Christ. Now in Jonah chapter 4 and verse 2, I want you to see that. I think that’s an important verse. Jonah chapter 4 and verse 2. And you’ll notice there in verse 2. He makes his statement, Jonah chapter 4 verse 2. And he prayed unto the Lord and said, Oh, I pray thee, O Lord, was this not my saying? Isn’t this what I told you? Lord, I told you so.

I told you I knew this is where you’d be. O Lord, was not this my saying when I was yet in my country. Therefore, I fled before undetarsious. For I knew that thou art a gracious God. for a person. Slow to anger. Slow to anger and of great kindness and repentance of the evil. See, God was going to judge them. But the people did what God wanted them to do. They believed on him. And so the Bible tells us that God has this anger.

There’s this slow burn. That God is patient. But also, God, see has a bull, or the cup of his indignation, and God is very slow to anger. But it builds and builds and builds. And when the cup gets full, it’s going to overflow. When it gets full, and I don’t know what it would take in everybody’s life, when God says, that’s enough. Now God may do the same thing when it comes to our disobedience. God’s children not walking with the Lord as we ought to.

God can’t change this, but isn’t God patient with his children? Gracious with his children? Does God give you a little leeway so that you can make some decisions on your own? Doesn’t He make the will of God wide enough that you can do all the right you want to within that framework. But no, it’s not good enough for most children. They want to go on the other side. Regalves of all the right you can do. Regalves of all the fruit you could eat in that garden.

No, you had to do that one little thing that he says not to do. Regalves of how much of the will of God we can have and recanting, rejoice in. No, we want to do that thing. He says, I can’t do. And just to show you that I can do it and get away with it, I’ll just do it real quick and get back. But the only thing is, is people don’t understand. You ever heard the story about the tar baby?

You get stuck. Sin is a trap, and that’s what it does to most of God’s children. Now, go to your Bible, to the book of Revelation, chapter 14. Revelation chapter 14. just know that the Bible says that it’s coming. The wrath of God is coming. If you haven’t trusted Christ as your Savior, the very moment your heart stops and there’s nobody there to revive it, it’s over. This is Revelation chapter 14 and look there in verse 10. Get what he says, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture.

That means is no delusion with mercy. In other words, God’s going to pour it out and there’s no mercy, which is poured out without mixer into the cup of his ancient nation, and he shall be poor men with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. Do you like the definition of the wrath of God? This is what happens when the wrath of God falls. The person that does not know the Lord, the wrath of God isn’t going to be perdy.

And there will be no mercy. See, there’s mercy until the cup is full, until the bowl is full. But once it’s poured out, there is no forgiveness. There is no backing up. It’s being poured. Judgment is being received. And people are not going to like the consequences. You see, if this wasn’t true, then we didn’t need anyone to come into the world and down the cross and pay for our sins because there would be no consequences. But there is an angry God and he pours out his wrath and his final.

And this is what he’s going to do. the first verse I want you to look at is Revelation chapter 16. Revelation chapter 16, and look in verse 19. Verse 19, where he says, and the great city was divided into three parts. And the cities of the nations fell and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wind, the fierceness of his wrath. God is patient, he’s long suffering. But we often say, if God did what he did to Sodom and Gomorrah, don’t you think that God must judge that same sin today?

They may enjoy what they’re doing today and get all the laws passed that says, it’s okay. They’re married now. That doesn’t alter the wrath of God. It’s still the wrath of God. And just because man makes a law, if it breaks God’s law, it’s not a justifiable law. And they can force anything they want upon us, but that doesn’t make it right. And we can suffer consequences of people’s bad decisions. Jesus suffered consequences to people’s bad decisions toward Him.

So he went through everything, went through all of that. Look in chapter 17 and look in verse 4. And you’ll notice in verse 4, and the woman was a raid in purple and scarlet color and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. See you sin a little bit and God will be patient and you sin a little bit more and God still patient in God is angry and you keep getting more and more and more and next thing you know the cup is full and Because you would not correct the problem And God’s gonna have to step in He even tells us that in 1 Corinthians in chapter 11 where he talks about because of God’s Children not doing right many are weak and some are sick and some are

dead But if we would judge it ourselves cells, it’s like emptying the cup. And when you don’t, the cup gets full and then God has to judge and deal with that situation. So you need to keep that in mind. There is a payment for sin so that you don’t have to face the wrath of God. Which is hell, you never have to worry about that. But woe to the individual that does not believe it, and will not accept it the wrath of God that’s going to fall upon those individuals.

It didn’t have to be that way. Now note it, also in the same chapter, chapter 18, in verse 3, where he says in verse 3, for all nations have drunk of the wind, the wrath of her fornication. The kings of the earth have committed fornication with her. And the merchants of the earth are wax rich through the abundance of her delicacies. So you find that down through here also, and it keeps going on and on and on. Now take your Bible and turn to Ephesians in chapter 5.

The book of Ephesians and chapter 5. In chapter 5, you’ll notice down there in verse 6. In verse 6, writing to the believers, those who have accepted Christ of their Savior, let no man deceive you with vain words. For because of these things come at the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Now this word children of disobedience, I’m not convinced that he’s talking about the saved, the believers, but the unbelievers, because hold your place right there and look in chapter 2 and look in verse 2.

Ephesians chapter 2 and verse 2 where he says, we’re in in time pass, walk to you according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the year, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedient unbelievers. Those who will not believe. You see this same phrase used in the book of Peter when he’s talking about those who found that the Lord is precious. Then he talks about those who will not believe and he talks about disobedience, who would not obey the gospel.

There’s those who will obey the gospel, there’s those who will not obey the gospel. And so those that are lost are called the children of disobedience. They will not believe. But he says down here in verse 3, among whom also we all had our behavior, manner of life and time passed in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, were by nature the children of what? Children of wrath. But God in verse 4, who is rich in mercy for his great love, where would he love us?

Saved us. So we were children of disobedience, children of wrath, but Christ died for us. Not because we earned it or deserved it in any way, but this is what he did for us. Now I cannot tell who’s saved and who’s not saved. I’d like to believe that everyone who tells me they’re saved are, but I’m not God and I I don’t know. I just hope you believe that I am. Now we know when we get to heaven, we’re gonna be very surprised that you are even there.

You’re gonna be surprised that I’m there. And we’ll probably be surprised to see somebody that didn’t, you’re not supposed to be here. But heaven is gonna be a wonderful time. But there’s some people that we probably think that are supposed to be there. They’ll look around and find out, well, where’s Bob Gilbert? He fooled everybody. He fooled all of us. thought it was genuine. But now, no, I believe Bob’s going to go. Because his wife said so.

But we do not have all the answers on a lot of stuff. That’s why it behooves every individual. The wrath of God is not something that you want. Now, take your Bible and look there in the book of of John chapter 3 and verse 36. John chapter 3 and verse 36. And verse 36 says, He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life. He that believeth not the Son of God shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Now I’d like to say, well, that was before Christ died. Well, this was written after Christ had died, though Jesus had said this, but I still believe the unbeliever who does not accept that payment Christ made is going to receive the wrath of God upon him. That person is going to spend an eternity separated from the Lord. So he says here, he shall not see life. That’s the lost man. But the wrath of God abides upon him, upon the lost man.

This is why every person should make sure that you have trusted Christ as your Savior. Nobody can do this for you. Your mother can’t do it for you. Your granny can’t do it for you. Everybody must accept Christ as Savior themselves. And that’s why it’s so important. Look there in verse 18 of the third chapter. He that believeth on him is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already. See, we’re already condemned. Why? Because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Christ came and died for us. Go back to Romans in chapter 5. Romans 5. Romans 5. And you’ll notice there’s several things that are mentioned down through here several times. Look in verse 6. Verse 6. For when we were yet without strength, without the power to save ourselves, to pay for our own sins, in due time Christ died for the godly or ungodly, the ungodly. So we’re all ungodly. We’re without God. So Christ died for the ungodly. verse 7, for scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet for a venture for a good man some would even dare to die.

But God commended his love toward us in that why we were yet sinners Christ died for us. So you may want to die for a righteous man. You may even consider for a good man, but for an ungodly man, an old sinner, would you want to give your life for that? This is what Christ did. So he says there in verse 7 for scarcely. In verse 8, God commendeth his love toward us. And to why we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more than being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. We are saved from wrath through him. Now look there in Romans in chapter one, Romans in chapter one. Romans chapter one gives us the message, we’re supposed to tell people, but listen, You may have a son or a daughter, a grandson, a granddaughter. You could have a mother or a father. Understand, if they haven’t trusted Christ as their Savior, it’s not going to be perdy.

Don’t worry about offending them now because if you know the truth and you don’t share the truth with them, what will they think about you later when they know that you knew? And wouldn’t tell them. You said, well, I don’t want to run the risk of offending them. run the risk. What’s the risk if you don’t do it? I had my mother get up and walk out of the room on me. I had my stepdad stand up and point his finger at me.

He says, if I want to hear preaching, I’ll go to church. Now, if you want to come over here and visit with us, that’s fine. But you want to come over here and start preaching to me. He says, I’m not going to have that. That was my reception. But little by little, I want them to the Lord. You see there in verse 16, for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation, salvation from the wrath of God.

That’s what we needed for it. To be delivered from that wrath of God that is to come. Who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Evidently what John the Baptist was preaching was what they needed to hear and to believe. So he says in verse 17, for therein in that gospel is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith. Now I can take that from my father-in-law believed it and he shared it with me and I believe it and I share it with somebody else and they believe it and that’s why Paul says I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.

I am ready to preach the gospel to those that roam. I am a debtor. All of that. But by the time you have trusted Christ as your Savior, shouldn’t there be somebody else that we share the message with? But he says this in verse 18, for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth and unrighteousness. The wrath of God revealed what in that gospel. How? Because God poured out his wrath that you deserve, and I deserve upon His Son.

And that’s why I’m not ashamed of this message. Do you realize where we would be spending eternity? Had it not been for Jesus Christ taking your sins and my sins upon Him and dying in our place so that we are safe from the wrath that is to come? We’re all going to die. But the moment I die, absent from the body, present with the Lord. I’m not looking for the undertaking, I’m looking for the undertaking. But if I should have to have to put my body in the grave, that’s fine.

But I know that I’ll never have to face the wrath of God. He that believeth on the Son hath life, and he that believeth not the Son of God hath not life. But the wrath of God bides upon him. So if you hear this morning, you never trusted Christ is your Savior. You need to understand. God’s cup is full. You’re going to die and you’re going to receive the wrath of God. And it’s not something that’s going to be pretty because there’s no forgiveness.

There’s no alternate. There’s no mercy. When the wrath falls, it’s wrath. It’s not grace. It’s not mercy. It’s not graciousness. It’s not kindness. justice. He made a substitute for you. And if you don’t accept that substitute, you get the full brunt of the wrath of God upon you. And it doesn’t have to be that away. It doesn’t have to be that away. But that’s, look at the end of the scripture with me. Look in the book of, uh, 2nd Thessalonians, 2nd Thessalonians chapter 1.

The Lord is coming back in verse And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels. Flaming fire, get this, taking vengeance on them that no, not God. And that obey not the gospel. How do you obey the gospel? Believe its message. The believe, the message. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, thou shalt be saved. If you accept that payment Christ made for you, He took your wrath, then that wrath has been satisfied between you and God.

And He doesn’t pour out any wrath upon you. None whatsoever. I have received the gift of eternal life. But now notice what He says. In verse 9, who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power? power. That’s why we are always saying that you will be eternally separated from the presence of God if you do not believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. That message is very important and everybody needs to believe it.

Look up here, this is you and me and this is sin because we have all sinned. God is angry with sin. Since we did it, God has to judge us. We have all been found guilty, therefore deserving of the wrath of God for our sins. And that is a eternal separation from God in the presence of an eternal fire for all eternity, forever and ever and ever. So God says to go to heaven you have to be perfect as righteous as God and none of us are perfect, none of us are righteous.

We’ve all sinned, we’ve all come short of God’s perfection because of sin see we can’t get in. So Jesus Christ, God’s Son, because we cannot save ourselves. We’re already guilty, we’re already condemned. Going to church, giving money, all the good things you could ever do will not help you get to heaven. That’s so difficult for people to understand. You’re not going to go to heaven because you’re good. You’re going to hell because you’re bad. We’ve all sinned against God.

This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. Came into this world and it didn’t matter if you think you’re a pretty righteous or a good man, but God says you’re all sinners. Means we’ve all sinned and God is angry. God is filled with wrath and He’s going to pour out His wrath upon the sin. And the more you see and understand how holy God is, you’ll see how sinful sin is. God despises it. He took Adam and Eve out of the garden for how many sins?

One sin. And God is not going to let you into his perfect heaven with one sin. It has to be paid. We’re all guilty. We’re all condemned. Christ came into the world because He loves us. He took the sin of all the world because He hated sense of man. And he loved us so much that he took it from us. Patered on the cross, came back from the dead. And when you believe that he did it for you, this payment he made is put to your account.

It’s not put to your account till you believe it. His righteousness is imputed to those who believe, Romans 4. Wouldn’t it be a shame for you to have all this happen, and God did all this for you? Well, one of these days I will. One of these days the road to hell is paid with good intentions. But what if you died today? What if you died this moment? To know that you have the wrath of God for all eternity and it didn’t have to be that way.

You could have had eternal life and gone to heaven. Wouldn’t it cost you a thing? See, what do I have to do? Admit your sinner. else knows it, you ought to admit it and believe it. He loved you and he loved you so much he’d rather die than live without you. So he came into the world and took your sins, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead. And all he wants you to do is will you believe he did it for you.

If you believe he did it for you, he gives you as a free gift everlasting life. He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. If you believe it right now, when would He give you eternal life right now. He then believe a hat, president, you have it right now when you believe it. And that can never be undone. Once you trust Christ as your Savior, you’re His child forever. Let’s pray, shall we? With every head bowed and every eye closed and no one looking around.

If you have never trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior, would you trust Him right now? Would you say, I believe He did it for me. And I’m going to accept that free gift of everlasting life. And friend, if you’ll trust Him right now, I’d like to know it. I’d like to have prayer for you. But I do this with heads, bow, knives, clothes, because I don’t want to embarrass anybody. But I’m going to ask you if you will accept Christ as your Savior right now, you’ll slip your hand very quickly, and put it right back down.

I’d like to have prayer for you. Is there anyone at all? Yeah, or at all? Yes, God bless you. Anyone else? Just slip it up and put it right back down. You can have heard about it all your life, but have you really trusted Christ as your Savior? Anyone else before we close? Not going to embarrass you, not going to have you forward. Our Father, we thank you so much for all you’ve done for us. Thank you so much for sending your Son to take the wrath of our sins.

Came back from the dead and promised us eternal life if we simply trust Him because of what He’s done for us. We asked your blessings upon the one that indicated bond uplifted hand that they would trust your Savior. And follow where you pray that they’d get a good Bible reading study and let you talk to them through it and talk to you through prayer and get into a good Bible believing in teaching church and share this with others. We ask your blessings upon this church, upon each person here today, in Christ’s name we pray.
