Do you believe that when God looked down, He looked down at the right time? And that when And he came down, do you believe he came down? At the right time. Now the Bible says this. Not only did he look down and he came down, but the Bible says that he laid down. Now where do we find in the Bible that he says, I have power to lay my life down? Where is that found? John chapter 10, very good.
Let’s go there. John chapter 10. And you’ll notice that there’s a few verses here. And verse 17. Well, let’s just look up a couple of the verses there just so you can see this. In verse 15 he makes a statement, as the Father knoweth me, even so I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep. So when God looked down, then He came down and that wasn’t enough. He has to lay down His life for everyone.
I lay down my life for the sheep. Then He says in verse 17, therefore, doth my Father love me because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. And in verse 18, no man take it that from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. So Christ came into the world, and He laid down His life for the whole world.
So he came into the world and he laid down his life. Now we know of course that he was raised from the dead. He ascended into heaven. But then the Bible tells us that he also he sat down. Where does it say he sat down? He sat down. Alright let’s just take a look at a couple of verses. Look in Hebrews in chapter 1. Hebrews in chapter 1. Hebrews chapter 1, and you’ll notice here that he says, I have in time passed, spoken through the prophets, but it happened these last days, spoken unto us by the Son.
And his Son is the heir of all things. And so he says this in verse 2, by whom he made the world. Verse 3 says, who, being in the form or the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had with your help. No, when he had by himself purged our sins, what did he do? He sat down. Now why did set down because the work of redemption was done.
Remember on the cross when he said, it is finished. And when it’s finished, it’s finished. Christ paid for our sins. And this is what the Bible says. He purged our sins. There’s no such place as purgatory. Christ has already done this for us. Take your Bible and turn there to the book of Hebrews in chapter 10. Hebrews in chapter 10 and look in verse 12. Verse 12. And you’ll notice in verse 12 where he says, but this man referring to Christ, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever.
It means he doesn’t have to ever do it again. The payment for our sins is permanent. It’s forever. sat down on the right hand of the Father, right hand of God. So the work was done and he sat down. There’s nothing that you and I have to do to pay for sins. It’s already done. That’s why there is no more sacrifice for sin. There is no more sacrifice for sin. Look in verse 26, for if we sin willfully after, you say, what if I sin down the road?
Oh, you will. But what if I send down the road on purpose willingly? There still remained if no more sacrifice for sin. Why? Because the payment he already made took care of the sins that were in the future that you commit after. Wilfully or any other way, there’s no more sacrifice to be made. Look there in verse 18 of chapter 10. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. See, if you could commit a sin in the future that could cause you to lose your salvation, how could you ever get saved again?
Because Christ isn’t coming back to pay for that sin. So that means if you could lose it, you can never get saved in the future. Now, have you sinned since you’ve been saved? Aren’t you glad it was covered? That’s the best insurance policy you can ever have. This is what we call eternal life insurance. And the premiums have already been paid all the way through. You don’t have any payments to make. I think that’s pretty good. Look there in chapter 12.
Look in chapter 12. Look in verse 1, where it says, we’re foreseen, we also are encompassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses. Let us lay aside every weight and the sin which does so easily be set us. Let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despised in the shame and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Jesus had a race to run. He finishedarij’s race, set out. You and I, the Bible says, in verse one, and two, that we are in a race. Our race is not over. We have no right to set down until the race is done. And then when the race is done, then that’s a different story. Then he’s gonna give us whatever miracles, or I guess I would say rewards that he has chosen to give to us. Now, the Bible tells us that the Lord not, not only do all these wonderful things for us, but that He reached down.
Now look in Matthew chapter 14. Matthew chapter 14. Because without Him reaching down for us, that doesn’t help us too much. So in chapter 14, you’ll notice there in verse 22, 14, and verse 22. It’s a simple little story, but understanding that while we’re down here on this earth, there are pines when you and I, as a child of God, we’re going to stumble. We’re going to fall. And when we stumble and when we fall, you should always know that the Lord upholds you with His right hand.
means he’s holding on to you and he doesn’t let you go. But now he will let you stumble, he will let you fall, but he also let you learn lessons that can pick you up. Look what he says. Straightway, Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, to go before him unto the other side where, while he sent the multitude away. When he had sent the multitude away, he He went up into a mountain apart to pray. And when the Eden was come, he was there alone.
But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with the waves. For the way and wind it was contrary. Now, who sent him in that boat to go to the other side? Who told him to do that? The Lord told him to do that. Well, it’s a shame because the Lord didn’t know there was gonna be a storm. PHI. I mean, he would have never sent him into a storm if he had known there was gonna be a storm.
Do you have a question in doubt whether God is still looking down on you and that God didn’t see that happening? God didn’t see that happening because if he’d if God had known that he would have stopped it evidently he’s not In power, or he didn’t see, he didn’t care, he really doesn’t love you. And so you’d be surprised how your mind can just turn to the flips. And you can question and doubt the provision of God. I go through that all the time.
I call it mental gymnastics. And so he says here in verse 25, And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went under them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea and they were troubled saying, it is a spirit and they cried out for fear. But straight way, immediately Jesus spake unto them saying, be of good cheer. It is I, be not afraid. Well, wait a minute. Be of good cheer. Wait a minute.
Do you realize there’s a storm here and we’re in a heap of trouble? And he says, be of good cheer. Oh, that’s easy. You didn’t say you say, you’re God, we’re not. Don’t you realize how serious this situation is? Do you have a question and doubt God’s provision for you? Now we know sooner or later, one of these days, he’s not gonna totally heal us from something because all of us have gotta die. You’ve gotta die of something, right?
I mean, who wants to die healthy? Hahaha, Dan beat me. But we know we’re gonna die someday, Somehow, and it may be pretty, it may not be pretty. Have you ever gone and seen, you look at somebody in the cast, you say, don’t they look good? Now that may look good to you, but that does not look good to me. You say, why, they’re dead. They’re dead. And they’re talking, oh, that’s just, you know, that’s not the way she smiles.
She doesn’t smile like that. They got her smile wrong. She’s dead, who cares? She’s dead. in verse 28 and Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou bid me come into the on the water, see some people want America. Some people want America. They are willing to step out of the boat, step out of that comfort zone. They want to see something done in their life that they can’t really answer, I did it. They want something so miraculous, something so deep and great that you know it was beyond your power to make happen because you want that sense that I saw God working.
I sense God working. I want God to do something. Well, He wants to walk on the water. So you know what He did? He walked on the water. Now He may not of what long. It doesn’t tell exactly how long it was, but he did walk on the water. And verse 20 in the end, Jesus, he said, come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. I would have liked to know just how far away he was.
But evidently he was pretty close because he just reached out in his hand and got a hold of him. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water to go Jesus, but when he saw the wind bustle us, he was afraid and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And verse 31, and immediately Jesus reached down. He stretched forth his hand because he was going down. He was sinking and Jesus reached down.
I like that because there have been times when I think I’m going to drown. I’m not going to make this. I don’t know what it is, but me and water just don’t get along. That’s That’s why I stopped taking baths a long time ago. Just joking, just joking. And I always thought, you know, why take a bath tonight? I’m just gonna get dirty again tomorrow. And so, you know, here’s women, you know, they wash all these dishes and they just get dirty the next time they use them.
And this old codger lived in no shack, him and two dogs. And a guy came to see him and put some food before him and says, well, I’ll help you watch the dishes. He said, no, don’t worry about that. I just let soap and water take care of it. And so they did that again. And then I just let soap and water take care of it. And so afterwards he opened the door and he said, soap, water, get in here in the two dogs.
They walked in. So you may want to get you some soap and water. They want to be a lot cheaper. They just lick it clean and you don’t have to worry about. Now some of you are going to go out and buy two dogs and you’re going to do that. But in verse 31, and immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore this docket? I’ve often wondered. I didn’t marvel so much just that he got out of the boat.
I marvel that what would have happened if he had not taken his eyes off the Lord? How far could he have walked? How long could he have stood on water? Have you ever wondered what you could have done for the Lord if you had only? If you had only? Do you feel like you have joined the if I had only club? There would be a club, if I had only. And you think, I wonder what I could have done if I’d have just been faithful here or faithful there.
How different my life could have been. And you just didn’t do it. You took the eyes off the Lord and you begin to sink and you were afraid. And this ain’t work. it so you quit. You stop getting out of the boat. You wanted to play it safe. Well, I guess sometimes we do that. But I think it’s wonderful to know and see these things in the Word of God. Now we know the Lord says this that He is going to come down again.
Isn’t that true? Don’t we look for the Lord to come down for us? Take your Bible and just look over there in the book of 1 Thessalonians 4, 1 Thessalonians and chapter 4. You’ve probably never seen these verses before, but you ought to look at them. 1 Thessalonians and chapter 4. And look what he says in verse 13, verse 13, 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 13, but I would not have you to be ignorant brethren concerning them with your sleep that you sorrow not even as others which have no hope.
We may sorrow, we have grief, but not like those who have no hope. We do have hope. We have that joyful anticipation. We’re going to see our loved ones again because we believe they’ve trusted Christ as their Savior. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also, which sleep in Jesus, will God bring with him? Now he can’t bring them with him if they’re not up there with him. Then he says, for this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and to remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent or go before them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, descend from heaven.” That means he’s coming down. See, he came the first time to make the payment for the sins of the world and he laid down his life for us. This time he’s coming down because he’s gonna raise the dead bodies and then he’s gonna change us that are living and he’s gonna raise us. So he’s coming down in order to raise us up. And so shall we ever be with the Lord and the Bible teases, therefore comfort one another with these words, because it’s supposed to be a comforting thought that we know that some that have died are gonna be resurrected and God’s gonna bring them back.
They’re sold and their body’s gonna be resurrected. And we which are alive, we’re gonna be changed and caught up together with them. We’re gonna be together with them with our loved ones. And so we ought to have great joy and great comfort. See, when you know the Scripture and believe the Scriptures, this is what it does for you. The last thing I want to take and talk to you about is found in Hebrews chapter 2. Hebrews in chapter 2, just turn your right there to Hebrews.
Hebrews in chapter 2. Hebrews chapter 2 lets us know that the Lord made man lower than the angels. And then the Lord Jesus Christ became lower than the angels for the suffering of death because angels don’t die. But, Lewin, he said in verse 5, but unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come where we speak. But one in a certain place, test the five saying, what is man that thou art mindful of him or the son of man that thou visited him.
Thou made us him a little lower than the angels, thou crown us him with glory and honor, and to set him over the works of thy hand. Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet everything under him, under, under, under. Because one day God’s going to take all those that are wicked and He’s going to put them under His feet.
He’s coming back, but He’s going to rule and reign and power in great glory. And He’s going to, eventually He’s going to put the devil down. He’s going to put the wicked down and He is going to reign. He’s going to take and put everything under His feet. In other words, He is over everything. Every shall bow down and give him glory because of who he is and what he has done. So we know this is coming. But look at one of the verses there in the book of 1 Corinthians and chapter 15.
1 Corinthians in chapter 15. There’s a verse here that I think is very important because when we come to the end, and one day it will all end, God does look down. He does know what’s going on. He knows about the world and the condition that we’re in. And nobody down through the centuries have been able to solve all the problems of the world. God has had to bring judgment. So he says here in verse, 23, but every man in his own order.
This is in 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 23. Christ the first fruits afterwards, they that are Christ at his coming. Then come of the end. When he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when he shall have in Yoda on the land, these two words, put down all rule and all authority and power, for he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet, the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. There’s a time coming when there’ll be a new heavens and a new earth, and because there’ll be no sin, there will be no death.”
And then he says again in verse 27, for he hath put all things under his feet, but when he saith all things there, put under him, it is manifested, he is accepted, which did put all things under him. But he says it hasn’t yet been completed. So we’re not through with life yet. We know where we are on God’s timetable. We know the next thing to happen is for the Lord to come in the air and we’re going to be caught up to meet the Lord.
Then we know there going to be seven years of tribulation upon this earth. Then we know Christ is going to set up His kingdom upon the earth for a thousand years and then we know they’re going to be a great white throne judgment and then God is going to judge this world by fire and everything will be under him because he will be over everything. And Jesus has earned the right to be prophet, priest and king. He is king of king, lord of lord.
There’s nobody over him and that’s why he says that the lord hath highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name. We have an awesome, awesome God. So God looks down to see what is going on. And that’s mentioned in several places. So if he did, he’s probably looking now. Do you think he knows what we’re doing? Not only is he in the wickedness of the world, but he also sees the responsibilities that we’ve been given and you’re going to hold us accountable because he knows what we have done and what we have not done.
Now we’re supposed to be found obedient to him regardless of what the world does. That’s what is important. Look up here. This hand representing you and me. And the wall of represents sin. We all have sin on us. And God looked down and he saw that They’ve all gone astray. There’s none righteous, no not one, that man cannot save himself. So God came down in the person of Jesus Christ.
And he came down and he had no sin, lived a perfect righteous holy life. And because of his love for us, the Bible says that Jesus Christ took the sin of the world and voluntarily he chose to lay down his life. So he laid down his life, came back from the dead and says, it is finished. All that he wants you and I to do is believe that he did it for us. When we believe he did it for us, he gives us as a free gift, the eternal life.
We get to go to heaven on what Jesus Christ did. So he laid down his life. And when he went to heaven, and I believe he presented the blood on the mercy seat because his was incorruptible blood. And because of that, then he sat down on the right hand of the Father because the work was done. And then he promised us that he would send the Holy Spirit so the Holy Spirit came down. And he says that one day he’s going to come back to the earth and receive us unto himself.
And one of these days that’s going to take place. But we also know that in the meantime we are the extension of our Heavenly Father. So as He reached down, we’re supposed to be reaching down and helping those who do not know the Lord. Bringing people to Christ, reaching down to help every person we possibly can, because the day will come when we will no longer be able to do what God wants us to do here. There is a day coming the night when no men can work.
Right now we can do this. Because we’re still here. But the time will come when we’re one by one, we’re going to die unless the Lord comes back soon. And then the day will come when He will have put down all enemies. So all the people that are against God today, all of them, all the wickedness that’s going on in the world, we may never be able to change that. Just try to change people’s destinies. To win as many as we can while we can.
And we leave the rest of it to the Lord. God is fully capable of judging this world. He probably doesn’t need our help. Let’s pray, shall we? With every head bowed and every eye closed, no one looked around. If you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, want it right now in the kindness of this moment, just believe that when He died, He died for you. This morning there were about four people that indicated they trusted Christ as Savior just by listening to the message because they were not connected to any YouTube messages.
And if you’re watching tonight, right where you are, understand this. This God looks down, God sees you, and He loves you. And He died on that cross because He wants you to go be in heaven with Him. But He will not force you, He will not make you. is your choice. Will you believe that when he died he died for you? And if you’ll believe that he said he would give you as a free gift everlasting life. And you can know that you’re going to heaven.
Not because you’re good, but because God is good. Because he loves you that much he’ll give you eternal life as a free gift. And right on the screen say, yes I’ll trust Christ as my Savior. If you’ve never done it before, would you trust the Lord? And if you do, would you just let us know? You that are here in the auditorium, if there’s anyone that has never trusted Christ, you may have heard of the thousand times. I talked to a man just yesterday that has said here month after month after month and still doesn’t get it.
That you’re saved by grace. I asked him, what do you have to do to go to heaven? Do good deeds. Do good deeds. Can you believe that? This is why even though you said here and you’ve heard of the thousand times, you may not have honestly trusted the Lord. Wouldn’t that be a shame to be so close to hear so much and never trust the Lord? If you’ve never done so, would you do it right now? But head by nice clothes in one of those.
Yes, I will trust Christ as my Savior tonight. Would you just slip your hand a very quickly and put a right back down in one of all our father. We thank you again for your blessings. Thank you so much for loving us for doing this wonderful thing for us so that we could live with you for all eternity. and forgiven us a ministry that can give purpose to our lives. There’s so many people that are still so down and out and help us to reach them.
