He goes on and says, you’re not going to be able to trust anybody. And then in verse 13, 13 and ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake, but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. So there is a beginning of sorrows and there is a ending. That’s this period of time right here, begins and ends. That’s what we’re talking about. Now you’ll find the same phrase mentioned in all three of these books.
And that’s the book of Matthew, book of Mark, and also the book of Luke. Now down there in verse 14 he says, but when ye shall see the the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet sent in the holy place. This is exactly what you’ll read in Matthew chapter 24 and verse 15. But this verse is talking about right in the middle of the tribulation period because it says in the mist of the week. The week is seven years and the mist is the middle.
Three and a half years before, beginning to sorrows, three and a half years after. You’ve got the great tribulation. That’s when God pours out his The devil is pouring out his wrath. So it’s not a good place to be during this period of time. And those who are living here, if they hate the scriptures and they watch and they see these things happening, they can be counted worthy to escape. The word escaped there in the book of Luke in chapter 21, talking about being able to flee.
And so you’ll find the same thing mentioned in the very next verse, verse 16, talking about in the book of Matthew chapter 24, talk about when you see these things flee into the mountain. Escape, get away. People who are not on their toes, they’re not watching, they’re not being observant, they’re not prepared, or not going to be able to escape in time. Because this is going to be the greatest persecution against the Jewish people that there’s ever been. And then he goes down here and he says in verse 15, let him that is on the housetop, not go down into the house, neither enter therein to take anything out of his house.
Just get up and leave quickly. And then he says in verse 19, for in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation, not evolution, which God created unto this time neither shall be. And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved. Talking about physically left alive, because this period of time is going to be so bad it’s possible for man to destroy man from the face of the earth.
And so God intervenes because there’s got to remain this remnant in which to start his kingdom. That’s why at the end of the tribulation period there’s going to be the judgment of the nations and he puts the sheep on one side and the goats on the other side and the sheep, those that are saved, go into the kingdom. So the only ones who end up at the end of the Spirit of Time are going to be those that are saved, left alive.
They’re physically alive, but they’re also spiritually alive and they go into the kingdom. Now you’ll notice in verse, we’ll look at verse 22, for false cries and false prophets shall rise and shall show signs and wonders to seduce if it were possible even the lake. But take ye heed, behold I have foretold you all these things. Now he gets into some of the same things he talks about that you would read in the book of Matthew. In those days after that tribulation the sun shall be darkened, moon shall not give her light, stars of heaven shall fall, the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.”
See now this is not the rapture. The rapture could take place at any time. There’s none of these things that has to happen before that. So if you try to take all of this and put this right before the rapture, then we’re not looking for Jesus to come back. We got to look for all these other signs that happened first. He says, when ye shall see this, know that the coming is night. And then lift up your eyes for your redemption drawing.
When you see this and you see this and so you’re not looking for the coming but this is doing the tribulation period, they can see these things coming to pass. So I’ll talk about what? Kind of preparation should those people have. How should they be dealing with this during this period of time? Because see, you and I, we don’t have to worry about some of those things that they’re going to have to be concerned with. We just live our life and keep doing what God tells us to do, and when the raptor takes place, there’s nothing to get ready for.
Ready or not, here I come. At a moment in the twinkle of an eye, your chain caught up, you’re out of here. You don’t have to be counted worthy in the sin that you trust in Christ is saved. That’s the only thing you and I had to do to be ready. But during this period of time, the Lord’s coming back. And so you want to be counted worthy to escape some of these things that are happening by being able to flee if you know what to do and what to look for.
So they will have, well, it will be light reading their morning newspaper. It said we’re just written a couple thousand years in advance. Now look what he says here. In verse 24, but in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, moon, so forth. Stars, and in verse 26, then shall they see the sun of man coming in the clouds with power and great glory. And then shall he send his angels. So this is the order. Then look in verse 28.
Now learn a parable of the fig tree. And so many people say, okay, the fig tree is a sign of Israel. And so that means when Israel became a nation, we’ll see, we can do that, we can apply that if we want to, but we’re reading into it something we’d like to be able to read into it. And there may be some truth to it, but you’ve got a problem when you go to the book of Luke and it says the same thing, but it says all trees.
So is it when Israel became a nation and all the nations became nations when they were born. It won’t fit with them, So maybe it doesn’t fit with this, but I wouldn’t worry about it. Because we’re not gonna be here and there’s things that are gonna take place. And plus this did not happen during the tribulation period. It was not becoming a nation during the tribulation period. It happened during the church age. But now I get this. As you go down through here and you see this, he says in verse one and so, ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
It’s just that it’s near. When you see these things begin to come to pass, it’s like seeing a fig tree begin to blossom or bloom. And you can see when that happens, then begin to put forth his leaf. You know you’re gonna have figs pretty soon. Well, when you see this and this and this and this, then know that his coming is nigh. And so they had something that they could look toward if people were on the ball. you see, but a lot of people, I think, should they be any more interested in looking for Christ to come at the end of the tribulation as what we are now?
Remember Paul says to all of them who love his appearing. And I don’t think he’s talking about the end of the tribulation period. I think we’re supposed to be looking for the Lord to come back in and we’re looking for the blessed hope. Christ coming back for us. we should live every day anticipating that it could happen at any time. And you’ll notice what he says here. In verse 30, Verily I send you that this generation shall not pass.
So all these things be done. So the beginning and the ending and this generation. Now, as I refer to the generation of people or the generation of time, from this time to this time. And it could be just a, well, there’s our Greek Colorado over there. If he got a word on that generation, what does it say about the generation? The generation is usually the nation, not a period of time, but the nation is going to be. Right, but on this place, in this word, in this scripture, I believe it will refer to that, but it got to be something to check out.
But anyway, look what he said now in verse 32. He said, these things are gonna pass away, heaven and earth shall pass away. But he says, my words shall not pass away. But at that day and that hour, no of no man, no not the angels which are in heaven, neither the son but the father, take heed, watch and pray for you know not what the time is. So it’s talking about during this period of time from the beginning, the ending, and what’s gonna take place.
And looking for the end of this age and the Lord coming back in power and great glory. And some people say, well, no man knows a day nor the hour. Neither the son but the father. No, I heard somebody explain it this way. I’m not saying it’s the best way or the only way or the right way. But that because we are going to be going to a wedding, there’s going to be a wedding and then there’s the marriage supper of the lamb.
And generally, the son goes and builds a house and he says, I will go and prepare a place for you. And it’s the Father who says when the Son is supposed to come and, you know, get everybody for the wedding and get everything ready to go and blah, blah, blah, blah. Well that may be the case. Or like Dr. Cameron said one time in his class because I ask him. I says, why doesn’t he know? If he’s the Son of God, how come he doesn’t know?
He says, that was then as a man. He says, of course he knows now. Oh, okay. was his answer he gave to me. So I took it and I haven’t come across a better one yet. So I’m going to go with Dr. Cameron. If I’m wrong, Dr. Cameron told me that. How many of you know who Dr. Cameron is? Okay, so a few of you. He was a great Bible teacher. I enjoyed listening to that guy. He was my teacher for four years and he taught a lot of the stuff.
And of course Bible doctrine. Bible doctrine was a driest course I think I’ve ever had in my life. But it’s an interesting course. It’s the baby food before you get to systematic theology. So he’s giving you the baby food and then you get to systematic theology, getting the tune of me to the word. I didn’t mean that, Bob. We’re moving right along. We’re moving right along. Now, he uses this a little parable here, but now, notice what he says up there in verse 36.
Let’s come in suddenly. See that word, suddenly he finds you sleeping. Now even though I know when this is talking about, I know he’s talking about here and Christ coming here and some people are gonna be sleeping. But I also want to apply it over here. Do you think that you and I should be sleeping on the job when God’s given us a job to do? And we should be looking for the Lord to come back, even for us, I believe that we should.
We should be not sleeping, but on the job. Now take your Bible and turn to the book of, now let’s go to Luke. Matthew, Mark, Luke’s a good chapter. And go all the way over there to the book of Luke chapter 21. Luke chapter 21. Now there’s many things that we will read here that are also mentioned over there in the book of Mark. It goes down through here and he makes these statements down. Look in verse 20, verse 20.
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compass with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is not. But that’s in the tribulation of the Bible. And when you shall see, that’s the people who are living during that period of time. We won’t be here, we won’t see that. Then he says in verse 21, let them which be in Judea, flee to the mountains, let them which are in the midst of it depart out, and let them not that are in the countries enter there into.
In other words, the people that see and understand what’s going on are to prepare and to get out and to run for safety because persecution is coming. And then he says in verse 22, for these be the days of vengeance that all things which are written may be fulfilled, that it pose a take place during this tribulation period and there’s many prophecies. See, there’s no prophecies before the rapture, but there’s an awful lot of prophecies after the rapture. And if you take all those prophecies and you try to put it before the rapture, You got chaos because it doesn’t fit.
None of it does. And this is why a lot of people to get it all mixed up in prophecy. But anyway, remember a lot of people were saying that last month we’ve probably been out of here. It didn’t happen. Well, I knew it wouldn’t happen because they were using signs that the Bible doesn’t say, refer to the rapture. Now it can be a type and some of the other things may happen and it may be produced again. And so let it be, I don’t care.
the Lord can come back today for me. I wouldn’t mind it at all, but now notice what this is saying. He says, in verse 24, and they shall fall by the edge of the sword and shall be led away captive into all nations. Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Now, there’s two things. There is the fullness of the Gentiles and the times of the Gentiles. Fullness of the Gentiles is God taken out among the Gentiles and the Jews and putting them together and making one new man.
Now there’s a fullness of the Gentiles. There’s the times of the Gentiles that goes all the way back to Babylon. And so you have Babylon is the head and then the Medes and the Persians and the Alleged Indian Empire, then the Roman Empire, and then the last ones is the ten toes. The ten toes, the ten horns, the ten crown, the kings, they’re all the same one. They’re the ones that will be ruling here with the Antichrist when there’s war against Christ.
So you can take all three of those and if you know they referenced toward Christ then you start down with the toes and you can work your way back and you can put them in the right order. So here in the book of Luke is Land is Downforce. Luke now in verse 25, and there shall be signs in the sun, in the moon and in the stars, and upon the earth distress of nations with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring, men’s hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
This is similar what we’ll read over the Matthew, and also in the book of Mark. And then he makes his statement in verse 27, then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory? Won’t that be something to be able to see Him coming in the clouds? And power and great glory? Is that mean just in our atmosphere or way out there in space someplace and they can see something coming? Wouldn’t that be something to scare them to death?
There’s an asterisk coming. He’s gonna hit us. That’s a cleansing course. And then who knows? I think it’ll be exciting. And to know that he’s coming back, white horses, and I’m riding a white horse right behind him. And then about five miles back, there’s John John. And that’s one of the big and exciting things. He’s riding on this mule. Just docked it, doesn’t you? Hm. Well, you gotta have some fun. How many of y’all in here have road horses?
You road horses. Sometimes it ain’t fun. And you’re so thankful for a sout, right when without a sout. No, don’t do it. Don’t do it. Especially a skinny horse who’s nothing but real. That’s what kind of a horse my daddy had. His name was Carrie, but I didn’t want him to carry me. That was the name of the horse. But look what he says here. He makes a statement in verse 27, then shall they see the Son of Man coming and a cloud with power and great glory.
When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, lift up your heads for your redemption, draw off none. Now this isn’t talking about us, but see if you take these verses and try to put them over there for the rapture, see there’s so many other things that would have to happen before this thing took place. But we’re never told as far as the church ever looked for all these signs. We just saw Christ is coming back. And it could happen at a moment.
And Twinkle 11 I would be chained to cut up to meet the Lord in the air. When he comes here, he’s coming to the earth. He’s coming away to the earth. And his feet will touch in that dip on the Mount of Olives. That’s why the Mount of Olives are gonna split. Why do you think I got that? All of us right there. I mean, this is the Mount of Olives, can’t you tell that? You can tell us a mountain, right?
And it touches a minute of splits over, so that’s why it’s drawn that away. Because that’s what’s gonna happen. That doesn’t happen at the Rapture. Now get what he says here. Look up. Now look what he says in verse 29. And he speak to them a parable, behold the fig tree and all the trees. When they now shoot forth ye see and know of your own selves. Summer is now nigh at hand. This is simply a one. And when you see these things come to pass, then you know this is close.
This is near. When you see all these things starting to take place, you know, hey, it’s here. You may not know the day and you may not know the hour. And that’s where those scriptures refer to this, does not refer to the rapture. Now notice, in verse 31, so likewise, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand, the kingdom. See, this is the kingdom right here, when he’s going to set up his kingdom upon the earth.
And we’re looking for the kingdom because the king is coming. You ever hear that song, the king is coming? Have you ever sung that song, the king is coming? You ought to get that song and sing it with your voice. All that would be awesome. You ought to sing it. And Bob Brooks come in here, oh, what king? And he could really get ahold of it. Man, y’all two, y’all’s voice. You would be awesome. Anyway, back here. In verse 32, barely asking you this generation.
Show not pass away to law be filled. Doesn’t it appear that this word, this generation refers to those people that are here during this period of time? I mean, just think about it and what we’re talking about. But see, a lot of people want to take this generation. Well, that goes all the way back when Israel became a nation. Well, not necessarily. You’ll see Israel became a nation 70 years in here, right? And isn’t it true that there’s a lot of people who are here.
people that were alive when Israel became a nation and are dead, they’re not all alive. This generation shall not pass away. Well, what year? Someone would be 70, 80, 90, 100 years old by now and I can’t die because I was alive when Israel became a nation and I was. So is that a guarantee that I can’t die because that generation shall not pass away or is it talking about that number of people or what But see, anything that opens up and becomes a can of worms, you got to back off and take another look at it and say, well, maybe that’s not really what it’s talking about.
And it may not. I do believe when it says this generation, when you shall see these things come about this generation, those people that are there during that period of time, I believe it has a reference toward them, more so. Now look what he says in verse 33, heaven and earth shall pass away. My word shall not pass away. This is the prophecies concerning this period of time. They were prophesied, they will be fulfilled from the beginning to the end, it’s going to happen.
In verse 34, and take heed to yourself. Now here is where he gets into, okay, it’s follow that’s true, by all of that’s true. What am I supposed to do about it? Well now these verses right here are not talking to the people before the rapture. It’s talking about people, for the people doing the tribulation period upon the earth. He tells them, take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfacing, which means doing everything in excess, intoxication with the things of the world, the drunkenness and cares of this life.
Is it possible that some of this could be applied to people before the rapture? Yeah. That you can get so busy doing so many things you are entangled with the affairs of this light that you cannot please him who have called you to be a soldier. So that’s what he says. He says that this day come upon you unawares. In other words, it happens all of a sudden and you are not prepared. When you could have been prepared, because you could have seen this happen, you’ve seen this happen, you see these happen and you could of known.
This is the people that are doing this tribulation period. And then he says in verse 35, and as a snare, this tribulation period, shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. That seemed like it’d be a worldwide thing, wouldn’t it? Some like every nation would be involved in this thing. Well, that’s kind of like what the scripture says. In verse 36, watch ye therefore and pray always that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man.
See at the end of this tribulation period there’s going to be the judgment of the nations. The sheep on one side, the goats on the other and those that endured to the end flesh-wise left alive at the end and at the judgment of the nation, believers will go into the millennium and the loss, Matthew 25, are going to be cast into the lake of fire. And that’s my opinion based on what I believe is upon the Word of God.
But when it comes to prophecy, give and take, not everybody’s on the same page. But if you don’t believe everything that I said, it’s probably going to cost you much because it’s not going to affect your life that much. I believe in spite of all of this, now if we had time and we could get into the book of Matthew 24 and chapter 25 because of the virgins and so forth, it kind of gives you the idea. The key was be prepared because the rapture, you don’t have to prepare if you just got to be saved, a saved person and ready or not, obedient or not, you’re gone, you’re out of here.
But don’t you want to be serving the Lord when the Lord comes back? You don’t want to He’s saying something, doing something, being somewhere. You don’t want to be ashamed before Him at His coming, but He is coming. And He’s gonna come here for you and I. He’s coming seven years later to the earth. Just think in less than seven years from now, or maybe a little bit more than seven years from now, if the raptor happened today, seven years from now we’d be in our glorified bodies and we’ll be in the kingdom upon the earth.
That’s how fast things can be taking place. So I am looking for the upper taker. And I don’t think I’m going to have to stay too healthy to make it. I just hope the Lord comes by midnight tonight. Look up here. This hand represents you and me, and the wallet represents sin. We all have sin upon us. The Bible says God loves us. He hates our sin, but he loves us. And he hates sin because sin separates us from the Lord.
This is the Jesus Christ. Separates us from him. And so I can’t get to the Lord and He can’t get to me because sin separates. And He says, your sins have separated me from you. And so He says, the wages of sin is death. So that means we all have to die an eternal separation from God in a literal fire burning hell. Because you can never get your sins paid for because it’s forever. And you can’t come back. back.
So once you’re dead, there is no option. There’s no other way. And you can’t save yourself. Your debt will never be paid. And this is why God loves us. So He went to the cross and He paid for our sin. See, to go to heaven, you have to be perfect. His righteousness is God. And none of us are perfect. We’re all sinned. And God says, you cannot save yourself. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh.
Came into the world because He loves us, hates our sin because our sin separates us. So Jesus Christ, whatever He did for one person, He did for the whole world. He took all the sin of all the world, paid for them to cross and came back from the dead. And He says the only thing He wanted us to do is believe that He did it for us. And He would put this payment to our account. I got a payment for my sins.
That’s why I can’t go to hell. And you can’t know you’re going to heaven till you know you can’t go to hell. Most people never get this. But what I’m saying is so true, you can’t know you’re going to have until you know you cannot go to hell. I can’t go to hell. All my sins are paid. Christ did it for me. And I’m going to heaven on what he did. And he said, I’ll never cast you out and never lose you.
Let’s pray, show him. With his bow nice clothes, no one looking around. And if you’re watching by internet tonight, remember, there’s nothing you have to do to save yourself. It’s not by your works. Christ did all the work, all He wanted you to do it, believe He did it for you. So right now in the quietness of this moment, would you trust Christ as your Savior? If you’re in the auditorium and you never trust the Lord, would you trust Him right now?
He said, if you would trust Him, He would save you. And if you’re watching by internet, right on the screen says, yes, I’ll trust Christ as my Savior. I pray that you will. Father, we thank you again for your blessings. Thank you for the opportunity to give us to come together, study a word, and we pray, Lord, said, we will be found faithful, serving you, not because we’re trying to earn our way to heaven because we’re already going, but because we love your appearing.
We can’t wait. Lord, we’d love to be there with you. And follow when we cover the things that we did this morning talking about heaven, what a place. You’ve only given us a peak, but one day we’ll see it all. We thank you for all you’ve done for us.
