Now, look at the next statement. Remember what we just read there was in chapter 2 of the book of Acts, and the church attitude, the church daily. So if this is in chapter two, then the church had to be in existence in chapter two. There’s not two churches. Some of you, that was a separate church than the one that Paul started. No, it’s not. That’s air in teaching. People can believe whatever they wanna believe and they can use a verse here and air and pull it out of thing.

And then it says how pretty that is. Always be aware of any teaching that eliminates your responsibility. Do you know when he commanded to go into all the world and preach the gospel? How powerful that statement is. Why would you wanna take that out of the Bible because there’s some people who don’t wanna go? And then you can take the rest of the books or even the apostle Paul, yes, I know there’s a couple verses that seem like you know, but there’s no commands to go into all the world and preach the gospel like you find in Matthew chapter 28.

But anyway, we’ll move right along. Look at the next statement. And great fear came upon all the church. So did the church exist before Paul was ever saved? See Paul didn’t get saved until chapter nine. These are verses before that. So Paul didn’t start the church. He was not the foundation of the church. The next scripture. Then had the churches rest throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria and get this before Paul ever preached the first sermon. before God ever gave him the mysteries of the church, and the mystery of the godliness, and the mystery of the rapture, and the mystery concerning the resurrection, those things that yes God used, and gave to the apostle Paul, and the understanding of the dispensation, he gave him a lot of truth that’s not revealed in other places.

But Paul wasn’t the only one that knew it. Remember, Paul preached the gospel just like the other apostles preached the gospel, but Paul didn’t get his message from the other apostles. Christ gave it to him 101. And God also gave him the truth concerning the church. He didn’t get it from the other apostles, but it didn’t mean the other apostles didn’t know it. Blue what he says here. And before Paul ever came along, the church was edified, walking in the fear of God, the comfort of the Holy Ghost multiplied.

So these churches existed before Paul. So there’s a lot of truth, everybody will have, I don’t know what their doctrine or error might be, they will have truth, but then they take and just change it, just deliver it, just do it, people can say Christ down the cross and pay for all the sins of the world. And all you gotta do is believe and obey. Join the church and turn from your sin. Then make Christ the Lord master of your life.

Did I say something that was true? I said something that was true. something that, well, man, you don’t go with it. Saved only believe. After you’re saved, yes, there’s a lot of things we ought to do and that we should. Look at the next statement, for ye have heard of my behavior, manner of life, conversation, and time passed in the Jews religion, how that beyond measure, I persecuted the church of God and wasted it. You can’t persecute something that doesn’t exist.

So the church already existed. Paul did not start the church. Let’s say one try to make it say, well now Paul started another church for the Gentiles and there was this church for the, no it’s not true. The church was made up of Jews in Billy and he says, what happened to us in Cornelius? He says, the same thing happened on us at the beginning and that’s also found there in chapter 10 of the book of Acts. Look down at the bottom of the page.

Scripture used for the church before Paul, remember there was no New Testament scriptures yet written. When the The church began what New Testament book did they all study? They hadn’t been written yet. The? But the church started. So there’s scripture that they taught to the church. Even the Bereans searched the scriptures. That means Old Testament scriptures. They didn’t have any New Testament scripts. They searched the scriptures to see whether or not these things were true. When Paul went to the synagogues, he taught the scriptures, that which was written the Old Testament.

So the church is still founded upon Christ the foundation. and they were edified. And in chapter six of the book of Acts, they had deacons for the church. They had deacons. And they were supposed to be godly in the midst of so whatever it was that they were teaching, they produced some good, godly, strong men that became good deacons in the church. Read chapter seven and talk about Stephen. Look down to the bottom of the page. In Acts chapter eight, Philip, what book did he use when he led this person to the Lord, this Ethiopian Union?

Anybody got an idea what book he used? The book of Isaiah. So that means that you can use the Old Testament to win somebody to the Lord in the New Testament times. And he did. So there’s people that say, you don’t use those books. We don’t study that. We just studied the books by Paul. Paul was a great man that God used in a wonderful way, gave some great revelations, and I’d hate to have a Bible without them. But they fit with all the other truths that are in the Bible.

You don’t take those out. Well, these are really special. These mean more than those other books. No, they don’t. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. All Scripture. The next one, in Acts chapter 10, Peter referred to all the prophets, to him give all the prophets witness. That’s what he did, and that’s the verse he used to win some Gentiles to the Lord. Peter used Old Testament, people believed they were part of the church and if Peter can, why can’t I?

Also those books don’t refer to the church. No, no, no, no, no. I can use any scripture in the Bible to accomplish God’s will. Page two. Look at the top of the page. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on them that heard the word and He says the same thing that happened to us on the day of Pentecost happened to these Gentiles at the beginning. So that’s when it started. I’m just telling you what the book says.

I don’t have an agenda. I’m not trying to build a special denomination or a religion. I’m just saying this is what the Bible teaches and that’s what I take. He looked at the next statement. They said, well Hebrews is not guaranteed to be written by the Apostle Paul. It’s not to the church. Woodman, if it’s to the Hebrews. And these Hebrews, they believers. And when were they saved? Well, this is doing Paul’s time, doing the church age. So if they are Jews and they are saved, are they part of the church?

Are these Jews? Are they part of the church? Yes. Every believer after the Deapetticos is a part of the body of Christ. So then the book of Hebrews, even though it’s written to Jewish believers, is talking about the Jewish believers that are in the body of Christ that are the church. So Hebrews has to be to the church. Look at the next statement. If Peter wrote to the Jewish tribes, then they were believers, which would make them also part of the church.

Then first and second Peter is also to the church. If it’s during this period of time in which we live, and it’s to those Jewish believers, then they’re part of the church. So it’s still to the church. So the book of Peter is just as important to me as the writings of Paul, or the book of Matthew and Mark and Luke and John. See, I don’t have one book above the other book. And whenever you begin to concentrate upon a certain section of books and at the demise of the other ones, though this is really important.

You’d be surprised how much you’re losing and how much of the people in most churches are not getting fed the word of God because they don’t believe the other part or as important as this. All of the word of God is important. Look at the next statement. If John wrote the book of Revelation, and he did, and he refers to the seven churches, I want you to take your Bible and look at this, look in the book of Revelation chapter 2.

Revelation chapter 2, because Paul did not write the book of Revelation. But look in chapter 2, in verse 1, on to the angel of the Church of Ephesus, right. It’s just written to the church. Looks like it to me. Looked in verse 8, and I’m to the angel of the church in Smirnett, right? Looks like it’s written to the church there too, doesn’t it? Well look in verse 12, and I’m to the angel of the church in Pericomos, right?

It’s just in the book of Revelation. It’s just written to the church. If this is written to the church, well if this is not written to the church, what good is it? I mean, what’s the value of it? Why even put it into Bible? You’re not supposed to read that because Paul wrote only to the church. So only thing for the church is what Paul wrote. No. And look what he says here in verse 18, onto the angel of the church in Thyatara.

Verse 1 of chapter 3, and unto the angel of the church in Sardis, right? Verse 7, and unto the angel of the church in Philadelphia, right? And down in verse 14, and unto the angel of the church of Laodicean, right? Looks like it’s in the book of Revelation, and it looks like it’s through the church. Well, Yin, can you just making that up? It’s like my mouth. That’s just a figure speech. Turn over there to the book of Revelation in chapter 22.

As you close out the book of Revelation, look what he says there in verse 16. Jesus is speaking. This is what Jesus said. I, Jesus, have sent, verse 16. I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify into you these words words where? In the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David and the bright and morning star and the spirit and the bride, the bride. That’s the church. You see one day we’re gonna get married. I’m gonna be the bride.

But I believe that all these scriptures are important in the book of Revelation that was written by John. I believe that includes the first John and second John, third John. You know that just about bowls on to it looks like church can profit from all of these books. And I believe there’s something important and I want you to see this. Look at the next statement. Timothy only had the Old Testament and salvation was the same. And that from a child, they’ll have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise in the salvation.

Well, if it was good enough for Timothy, who was doing the church age to understand the gospel from the Old Testament Scriptures, how come we can’t still leave people to the Lord by using Old Testament scriptures. Oh, we have to only use Paul’s writings. They didn’t. What writings did Paul use when he became a soul winner? Scriptures, Old Testament Scriptures. That was written. Peter did the same thing. All the apostles referred to Jesus himself referred to the Old Testament.

So I believe in studying the Bible, all scripture. Look at the next statement. This is what Paul said. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for the church, for reproof, for the church, for correction, for the church, for instruction in righteousness, for the church, that the man of God may be perfect or complete throughly furnished unto all good works. Paul did not promote only his books but every book in the Bible. I believe all scripture, not one is above the other.

God had given us a complete set of books. He had to reveal to us and through the Old Testament, the New Testament, His will. Look at the next statement I have here. So all that a man needs are not found in the books of Paul alone. They are a compliment or a supplement for all scripture. They all compliment each other. Look at the next statement, all scripture is is for our learning. This is Romans 15. Paul said this, for whatsoever things were written a four time, were written, and see those three words, four hour learning.

So are we supposed to learn all the scriptures? I mean, if you can read, can you read? So I don’t have it a special agenda, I just believe the Bible. But if I don’t know this, I won’t be able to take, oh, that’s not true, that’s not true, and that’s not true. I don’t think if it’s a Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons or the Pentecostals or the Washington, Aboriginal, everybody got a little truth. But you need to have a comprehensive knowledge of this book, and it has to perfectly dovetail.

And that’s why whenever I see somebody say, you know, the rapture, they don’t know when it’s going to go, well, well, well, I studied that too. And I’ve always got people who are trying to straighten me up. I’ll be honest with you. I don’t want no more straightening out. I’m 76 years old, and I’m sitting my ways, And I know what I believe. Nobody’s going to now at this stage in my life convince me of air in my teaching unless you got chapter and verse.

Philosophy won’t work. Theology’s not going to work unless it’s according to the book. I don’t mind somebody saying, you know what about this and what about this and what about this and what about this. I’ve already said about this and about this and about this. I don’t know much about what somebody’s going to ask me or show me that I haven’t already read and studied. Somehow, some way in 50-something years. Anyway, look at the next statement. Nowhere in the New Testament does any writer on null, the Great Commission, or water baptism found in Matthew.

Find the verse. It’s not there. Well, so when I know the apostle Paul says Christ sent me to preach the gospel not to baptize. Oh, I didn’t know that was in the Bible. Or look at the statement. Why did Paul say this? I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Christmas in Gaius. Well, if you’re not supposed to baptize, why did Paul get baptized? And he says, I didn’t baptize them except these two. Well then why did you baptize anybody?

He had a reason for not baptizing a lot of people. He says, less anybody should say, I baptize in my own name. That was the reason he didn’t do it. But you see, you can preach the gospel and not baptize. Some of you in this room probably have already trusted Christ as your Savior and you’ve never been baptized. True? Because baptism doesn’t save anybody. They say, well, you know what? Why should your sins away? Okay, you went into the water and you got baptized.

You went down, you came up, oh, my sins are washed away. And the next day you might as well get back into water again. And the next week you’d better get back in. You know what? You need to just stay in the water. Don’t get out of there. Believe what he says, For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel. This is a priority. It means that you can be baptized, but that’s not as priority. My priority is that I preach the gospel, and I try to win people Christ.

But I don’t have to baptize everybody. We sometimes can’t even get people baptized because we don’t have to go to this place at that place. And if it gets cold, I’ve been in Minnesota. And I know there’s some people up there that like to do the ice fishing, and they like to do ice baptism. I’m not getting into water. I can’t even stand cold water to touch my toe.

But anyway, look down here at these statements. Show that baptism is not required to be saved, but a picture of salvation. It shows baptism does not save, baptism is not the gospel. It teaches some great truths, and that’s why you’re gonna get saved once, you’re gonna get baptized once. Because baptism is a picture of your salvation. when you trusted Christ your Savior’s because you believed that when Christ died on the cross, He was buried, came back from the dead.

You believed that. So when you were baptized in water, it’s a picture of your salvation. But now it’s also about your belief, your salvation. It’s you believe and you are buried and you came back from the dead. So what about Testament is a picture of your salvation, not only what Christ did, but also, His would put to your account. So you did it. I died on that cross and I was buried and I came back from the dead. I have paid for all my sins and I have now come back from the dead.

And there’s no sin in the future that could be put to my account. Blessed is the man to whom God will not impute sin. I didn’t write it, but it’s there. And the only reason we can know that we’re going to heaven is because we know we cannot go to hell. Why? Because he paid for how many of my sins? All of them. Now look at this statement down at the bottom. Paul was given the mysteries of the church’s, the dispensations.

And it’s awesome when you read it and you study it. And a dispensation is a truth that’s been hidden in time pass but now revealed for the first time. Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men as it is now revealed unto the holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. You see, the Holy Spirit taught them, but Jesus taught Paul. That’s why Paul says, I learned this not from anybody else, but I learned it from Christ.

You read the book of Galatians and in chapter 1 he makes this statement in verse 11 it’s on. But now get this, Paul was not the only one who knew that the Gentile should be fellow heirs and of the same body in part, take us of his promise in Christ by the gospel. And one of the mysteries Jews and Gentiles were both in Christ and Christ in you. I’m in Him and He is in Me and that is our hope of glory.

The book of Colossians in chapter 1. Look at the bottom. He revealed the truth of the body. Christ in us the hope of glory, the qualifications of elders and deacons. You read the book of Timothy and you’ll find out how he lays it all out. Nobody else explained just like the apostle Paul. He revealed the truth about the racks of the body. We shall not all sleep. Behold, I show you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changing a moment the twinkle of the eye and caught up to meet the Lord in the ear.

Paul revealed that. That’s the truth that was hidden in time passage. Now revealed. But does that mean I can’t read 1 Peter? I can’t read John and I can’t read Revelation. I can’t read Hebrews. Yes, you can and teach from every book in the Bible. When I teach on Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night, I’m all over the Bible. This morning we were teaching in Hebrews and we were back there in two portions of Scripture in the book of Psalms.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. And in the last part, He revealed the purpose and the order of communion in the church. church. Take your Bible and just turn there right quick. I ain’t even amazing. We just happen to be going to have a community service this morning. Just a coincidence. I really did not know that Jay was going to read those first words, Compregie. And I think the Lord does something like that. I had no clue.

And I don’t think I’ve ever said it before, but I did at that time. Sometimes the Lord is in charge and He can take some of our foolish ways and work wonders. God is a good God, a marvelous God. But I enjoy studying the book. But just though that you see before I quit right here, look in chapter 10 and chapter 10, first Corinthians and chapter 10, look what He is talking about here in verse 1. Moreover, brethren, I would not have you be ignorant how that all our fathers were unto the cloud and all passed through the sea and were baptized in the Moses.

He wants us to know Paul wrote this telling us I don’t want you to be ignorant of what is in the Old Testament. Now 1 Corinthians in chapter 11 he says in verse 23, I have received of the Lord that which I also delivered unto you that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread. This is found in the book of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, and John. You mean Paul can refer to, but we can’t go there and sell it.

And when he had given thanks, he break it and says, take heed, this is my body which is broke of you. This do in remembrance of me. You see, God has given us things to remember, to remember, to help us. Because you see, lest you forget, we do this once a month. But when you get saved how many times have you been baptized? Don’t you get baptized one time? Because you did that picture of your salvation. This is about your walk with the Lord.

This is about your dedication to the Lord between now and the time He comes back again. That we look back at what He did and we look forward to Him coming again. So in this period of time in between God wants us to live every day, understand it and believe even why he died. He paid for our sins. And he wants us as his children to walk close to him. So whenever there’s things in your life that are not right, he uses the illustration, the Old Testament, he says like when you walk in and you’re getting some dirt on your feet, he says you don’t necessarily need a whole bath.

You just need to wash your feet. That’s why they did a lot of foot washing those days. They walked a lot of places. It’s kind of like this year boy, he says, dad, I want to be able to drive my car when I’m 16. He says, sure son, he says, all you got to do is just cut your hair. He says, but I shouldn’t have to cut my hair just because I want a car. He says, daddy says, that’s the rules.

He says, well, Jesus and the disciples, they all had long hair. He says, if you remember, they walked everywhere they went. These scriptures are given so we can examine ourselves. Not your your neighbor, just yourself. Are you right with the Lord? Is there anything in your life that’s come between you and him? See, God is a jealous God, and he can remove anything you put between you and him. And that doesn’t matter. If it’s your health, if it’s your job, if it’s people, God can take anything out of your life you put between you and him.

Now, you may lose a lot of things in life, but don’t let be because of that. God is jealous. He wants to be number one in your life. He wants to have the preeminence. He wants you to love Him more than anything else in the world. The reason we do this is because all this represents is how much God loved us. And your walk with the Lord is because of how much you love Him. So if you keep doing this on a regular basis, it kind of keeps you asking, do I love Him?

Do I love Him more than the world? And this is just to help you a little bit. Look up here. This end represents you and me and the wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. Now God, He loves us, but He hates our sin. And for us to pay for sin is eternal separation from God in hell. So since we’ve all sinned, we’re all condemned. But God loves us and wants us to go to heaven. And to go to heaven, we have to be perfect as righteous as God.

And none of us are perfect. None of us are righteous. You see, we cannot save ourselves. We have a debt to pay and it’s to be eternally separated from God in hell. So what Christ did for us, the sin representing Christ, God in the flesh, He came into the world. He lived the perfect life. He had no sin, did Him the sin. He didn’t have to die. But because He loved us, He did for us what nobody else could do.

He took all the sin of all the world and paid for the Lord and crossed, came back from the dead. said, if you would believe he did it for you, he would put this payment to your account and you get to go to heaven on what Jesus Christ did for you. If you’ve never trusted Christ as you’re saved, you’re doing right now. He came back from the dead and said, just believe it. I loved you that much. I paid for your sins.

I’m going to heaven because he paid for my sins. There is no other reason. I’m going to heaven because I believe he paid for my sins. And tomorrow he paid for my sins. And 10 years from now, why am I going to heaven? He paid for my sin. It’s never because, well, I’ve been a preacher for 50 years. No, that has nothing to do with it. And you’re living a good life and coming to church and giving all your money that you’re being in.

You might want to give a little bit more, but giving all your money. That’s not going to get you to heaven because eternal life is a gift. It’s totally free. Let’s pray, shall we? It has bow nice clothes, no one looking around. If you’re watching by internet, Listen to what I’ve said, if you will trust Christ as your Savior, God will save you. He so loved the world that included you. He paid for the sins of the world and that included you and that included all of your sins.

And the only thing you have to do is believe He did it for you and friend, you can handle that. He didn’t ask you to do something miraculously or something impossible. This is something you can do. You’re just trusting Him to take you to heaven. And once you trust Him as your Savior, you have eternal life. You see, His death was for you. He shed his blood and he took up on a body so that he could take upon himself, your sins and my sins.

And he shed his blood and came back from the dead. He said, I did that for you. Would you believe it? And if you have already trusted Christ as your savior, are there areas in your life that you need to talk about? Just between you and the Lord. Confess those things to him. Keep it clean. Do right.

Love the Lord. Our Father, we thank You so much for this time together. Thank You for loving us. Loving us enough that You would die for us to give us eternal life as a free gift. With your heads still bobbing your eyes closed, is it? You would have all said, I got questions and maybe a few doubts, but the best of know how I will accept Jesus Christ right now is my Savior. And if you will trust Him, would you just let me know by just slipping in a very quickly barrelic down.

I’m not going to have you forward, not going to embarrass you. If you’re watching by internet right on the screen, it says, yes, I’ll trust Christ as my Savior. I pray that you would. Is there any word on it? Father, we thank you again for your blessings. Thank you for this time together. Christ and every prayer. Are you a new listener to Bibleline?
