In this world, as long as we’re in this body, we’re going to grieve because we are going to have sorrow in this world. Why? Because of our sinful nature. Our sinful nature causes us to do sinful things. We will hurt people. We’ll wrong each other. People are going to wrong us. And because of sin, the Bible says we’re all going to die. That means we’re all going to be separated eternally from God because he God is holy. And nobody can live in his presence unless you are as perfect and righteous and just and holy as he is.

And that eliminates the whole human race. There is no hope for man. Man cannot do anything about it. Religions will not work. So that’s why God sent his son, Jesus Christ. And he died and paid for all the sins so that John over here could accept his death as his death and get a new birth. I’m gonna ask, I don’t which one of you guys here, you’re coming up here, a yellow shirt. That’s Trent, that’s Trent. And Trent, just stand right here on this side.

Now, you may not know this, but this is John John. Now, this is John John, but this is John John’s new birth. You see, there came a day when John John heard the Gospel, what Christ did for him. So John John accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. So when he accepted Christ as his Savior, God did not change this over here. This is a body of the flesh. He didn’t get a new body. You see, when he got up that morning and he looked in the mirror and he was ugly, when he went home that afternoon, he looked in the mirror and he was still ugly.

See, God didn’t change the body. He didn’t change his old sinful nature. He didn’t convert him. He didn’t do anything with this old birth. God did is gave him a brand new birth. This over here is a spiritual birth. You see, you can’t see it. Now you just think you see him, but you can’t really see your second birth because it is born of the Spirit of God. God is the Father because you see, when John, John believed the Word of God, God gave to him a new birth.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit spirit. This is a spiritual birth born of God. Now this birth over here understand this. I would venture to say 99% of all preachers in America don’t understand this. That’s why they get all mixed up on what the gospel is. Over here this new birth came from God because of believing the incorruptible seed, the word of God. He He saw it, he read it, he believed it, and God gave to him a new birth.

This new birth born of God does not have a sinful nature because, see, God doesn’t have a sinful nature. And all of His children, God’s children are those who have been born of God. You see, the flesh is not born of God, but the Spirit is. This birth is born of God. A little baby, now John John over here, he’s probably up there close to 50 years of age. an old man. Over here, you see, he’s only how old?

About 22? 20? He’s younger than I thought. He’s only 20. But see, he’s the new birth. But this one doesn’t have a sinful nature. If it doesn’t have a sinful nature, it can not sin. And if it can not sin… It can not die. Which one of these can die yet? This one. Where does he live? He lives inside of him. His new birth lives inside of him. But you see, he only has one body, body, but he has two births.

And so God says, I want you assailant to take control of this body. But the flesh says, I was herest. And I’m not going to do it. So you have an argument. You’re going to have a fight. So you have the flesh and the spirit and they fight back and forth over who gets to control this one body that they have. And God says whenever you in dwell this body over here, He’s been here a long time and He has experienced on how to go His own way.

But I want you to go my way, but you only got one body. He says, I’m going to give you the indwelling Holy Spirit. So when you indwell Him, I’m going with you. And if you will listen to me, I’ll tell you how to have victory. But the problem is not all of God’s children obey their Heavenly Father. So now that we’re over here and we’re living in this body, you have to understand this person over here in the flesh can still commit every sin in the book.

Why? Because he still has a sinful nature. You say, well, what happens when he sins? He didn’t do it. He can’t do it. That’s the new birth. It’s this one over here. So God can still chase and so forth because he’s still not right. The flesh cannot inherit the kingdom of God, never will. You see, as a child of God, he inherited everything his father has. This one cannot die, and so whenever a person dies physically, and there’s deaths that happens all the time, all around us, when he dies, the body will go to the grave.

And there’s many people that have them cremated, but whatever. The body’s going back to the dust to be absent from the body present with the Lord. Absent from the body, that’s the end of this old sinful nature that lives in the members, in your bodies, in your flesh. The lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. But this person will live forever. And so whenever he dies, absent from the body, present with the Lord.

And this is why when he goes to be with the Lord, when the Lord comes back, he’s gonna bring him with him. And he can’t bring him with him if he’s not there with him. And the Lord says, I’ll never leave you and I’ll never forsake you. When he was living in this body, he was with him. And then they are leaving this body, that’s what death is, separation from the body. Death is not annihilation. So when you leave this body and one of these days, you’re going to hear that Yankee has passed away.

And that’s the end of him. I will be more alive at that moment than I have ever been in my life. I will be with the Lord in heaven. And when you stop and think about where I am at that time, do you think you’d ever walk to pull me back into this world back into this body that I finally got rid of in that old sinful nature and all the heartache and the sorrow and the pain and the grief that you can go through in this life because when you live it in this old body with this old sinful nature with everybody else God can give you the strength and the grace to live and to face life with the Lord.

With the Lord you can face anything but there’s a struggle that goes on between the flesh and the spirit. Thank you, fellow Jacques, and be seated. Give my begin. I appreciate it. They might pat each other back, but that doesn’t happen. Fresh in the spirit never gets along. Never gets along. Now take your Bible and turn back there to the book of 1 Thessalonians in chapter 4. First Thessalonians in chapter 4. You see, while we’re in this world, we sometimes have some victories and sometimes we don’t have victory.

You can make a lot of good decisions and you can make some wrong decisions. Every one of you in this room, there’s no difference. If you have trusted Christ as your Savior, you’ve been born in the God’s family. You have a new birth. But you see, God wants His children to have . . . . . . . . . Dominion over this body that we have. God does not want us to let this old nature, this old man have dominion over us.

He doesn’t want that to rule and to guide us. So therefore if you want victory in your Christian life, the Christian, this child of God, he should feed upon the word of God. That’s how he grows strong. Remember he was born by the word of God. He is to desire the sincere milk of the word that he may grow thereby. By doing so, He becomes a stronger Christian so that he can handle the desires of the flesh. If you don’t grow strong as a Christian, the desires of the flesh will overwhelm you.

But once you’re his child, you’re always a child of God. Always. And God said, I’ll never cast you out and I’ll never lose you. That’s how you can know that whenever you trust Christ, you’re going to heaven. And nothing that the flesh does, good, better, and different, can ever affect this new birth. birth. But you want to have victory in your life. It’s only by serving the Lord, learning how to walk with God through life. Now look at our first test of the Lordings in chapter 4 and verse 13 one more time.

When he says, but I would not have you to be ignorant brethren and the reasons because there are a lot of ignorant brethren. But he doesn’t want the brethren to be ignorant because this is a great truth. Truth is where we get our comfort from. It’s not by denying the truth. I was talking to the college kids and there’s religions that teach that there’s no such thing as sin. There’s no such thing as death and some people just get happens to the Lord because they just consider whatever they do that’s wrong.

It’s not really wrong therefore I feel better there is no sin and that there’s no such thing as death and I And I mentioned to them that yes, I talked to a man that was out in Colorado. And he was upset with me because I believe these scriptures right here about the rapture, that the Lord could come back and take us out of here. And he said there and he rigged people over the cold that believed and waiting for Jesus to come back.

Jesus come come back and rapture everybody out of here. And this world is going to depart because of Christians not doing their job trying to preserve our country. I said, well, now look, I believe in the rapture. Oh, it knocked him for a loop. And I says, but I’m not one of those that believe that I don’t have to do something and shouldn’t be doing something. I believe the best way to help anybody in any situation is to lead them to Christ.

I can’t think of anything better that helps people. to learn how to deal with the fear even of death. Because most people don’t want to talk about it, and yet it happens to everyone of us sooner or later. I also mentioned this to you. There’s a verse in the book of Romans in chapter 1. It talks about where God gave them up. There’s people who deny God, His power, His word, His truth, and they want to go their own way and do their own thing, and God says, God gave them up.

God gave them up. It doesn’t mean that God can’t save them. Is that God gave them up to do whatever they want to do, to go their own way. And see, whenever an individual wants to go their own way and after an admonition and so forth, God will allow them to do whatever they want to do. God will allow a family that doesn’t want God in their life, then God will back out and and let you do whatever you want to do.

But there’s consequences. When a nation doesn’t want God, God can pull back and let that nation go any way it wants to go. But there’s consequences. When there’s schools, and schools don’t want God in the school, and the Bible in the school, and prayer in the school, God can back out and let us go go any direction it wants to go. But there’s consequences. You see, God will give people up to do whatever they want to do. But He says right before all of that in book of Romans, verse 16, for the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s the individual and how far He goes from God or a family and how far they may go from God or a nation and how far it goes from God. We’re schooled and how far it goes from God. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth. You see, the Bible, the Lord, the Holy Spirit, truth is the only thing that can give to a man, a woman, a boy or girl, all these teenagers in our school is the only thing that can give them the power over the sinful nature.

No laws can do it. That’s why no legislation is done. can solve our problem because it’s a spiritual problem. It’s a spiritual problem. And so by taking God out of everything, we have created an environment that destroys the individual, destroys the family, destroys our government, destroys our churches, and destroys our home because people want to live their lives like sheep, everybody going astray, doing their own thing, and every man doing what is right in his own eyes instead of what does God’s Word has to say?

We live in a sinful world. The only hope for any man is this new birth that God wants to give to us. So in verse 13, he says, I would not have to be ignorant, brethren concerning them which have that our sleep, that you sorrow not even as others which have no hope. See, some people have none whatsoever. They have no joyful anticipation of anything better. You and I, there’s no Christ’s Savior, we know there’s something better. There’s something better than me going my own way and that’s going God’s way.

There’s something better in life. There’s something better beyond this life. But we have the truth and we know this. So he says here in verse 14, for if we keep the 10 commandments and obey the goal and role and go to Calvary Community Church and pay 50%. Man, I know I should have wrote the Bible. Verse 14 gets what he says, for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also, which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him?

You see, there’s people who have already passed on and to leave this world, to leave these bodies present with the Lord. And God says one day he’s going to return and he’s going to bring them with him. If we believe, and notice what he says we had to believe about Jesus, that he died and rose again. You see, he was alive and he died. Why did he die? He paid for my sins. Why did he pay for my sins?

So that I wouldn’t have to. He paid for my sins, so that I wouldn’t have to pay for them. I deserved to pay for them, but I don’t have to pay for them. Why? Because he loved me. He paid for my sins. came back from the dead means he rose again, he came back to life, coming back to life mean something. There’s life after death. And if there’s a life after death, then he says to die no more. It’ll never happen again.

And that there’s something on the other side of this life. So death here does not, cannot end it all. doesn’t end it all. It’s the beginning of eternity. This world is nothing but a dressing room getting prepared to meet God. I’m gonna meet God face to face one of these days. And one of the things that’s so terrible is being eternally separated from God. But when you trust Christ as Savior, He says, I will never leave you and never forsake you.

To always be in the presence of God Himself. There’ll be no sin, no sorrow, no sickness, no disease, there’ll be no death. Heaven is a wonderful place and God talks about it, describes it and that’s why we need a Savior. God wants to save us from the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life from our old sinful nature and the way we are now. Who in the world would want to live like we have to live now for eternity?

not me. I’ve seen what’s happened in just 76 years. Can you imagine what I like in another 76 years? Well, move right. Somebody say something. All right, look there in verse 15. For this we say unto you by the word of Yankee. No, the word of the Lord that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. In other we won’t go before them because the Bible says those bodies are going to be in the graves.

They are with the Lord. When they come back the Bible says these bodies are going to be resurrected first. And then when we which are alive and remain will be changed in a moment the twinkling of an eye and will be caught up together with them in the clouds. Now that’s what the Bible says. And that’s why he says, in verse 18, comfort one another with these words. Why is this supposed to bring us comfort? Because it’s the truth.

The truth. We don’t have to sorrow as those who have no hope. We will have sorrow and yes, we will grieve. And I know that the day is coming where if God should carry, it might be me or it might be my wife. She keeps telling me we’re going to go together. That’s why I don’t want to ride in the car with her. I’m just joking, just joking.

I always dreamed I was going to drive by drowning. I don’t know why I’m always drawn, so I quit taking baths 20 years ago. Just joking, just joking. But isn’t it wonderful to know the Lord, know you have eternal life, know that you’re going to heaven whenever you’re dying? And some of y’all, you’re probably sitting here right now, you’ve got surgery facing you, you’ve got some things you’re grieving about. Some of you may have already lost somebody years ago, and there’s grief.

And I was sharing with a couple of them that years ago, 25 years ago last month, my son was brutally murdered. And we had only seen him that one time when we left, and it was about two weeks later, my brother calls me up and says, Yankee, your son’s been killed. And it was devastating, so we had to fly out to Colorado and we never got to see him again. And there was this grief, but you get numb, you don’t know sometimes how to react, how to respond.

I’m a preacher. I know the book. Did you know that you still had a loss for words and you don’t know how to express? And I didn’t even hardly talk about it for almost a year. And then I was over in Israel. And we were eating McDonald’s. They’re not McDonald’s, they’re McDavid’s. My son’s name is David. We were standing at King David Hotel. And there was David Street. Everything was David, David, David, and then one night, eyeball for the first time, almost a year later.

Now, some people don’t react the same way. And so it’s hard to know how to respond and how different people are gonna respond, but understand God can walk you through things. Some things you’ll hold it in, other people are gonna let it loose. Be patient with people and give people time to hurt, to grieve a little bit. Because see, if you don’t learn how to grieve a little bit, It’s a way of healing. It can be a form of healing.

And when you heal, sometimes time can really do a lot of good for you. Your mind is not sharpening to remembering all the details that you don’t need to. All you ever think about is, you know, I loved him. I know he’s in heaven. I’m gonna see him again. And somebody asked me, well, how do you get over that? You know, I don’t get over it. I’ve never got over it in 25 years. But I can go on with it.

I got to still face life. I still got to live. I still got decisions to make. But so you can’t always just dismiss everything or deny. No, just believe the truth. Whenever you lose your husband or your wife or your children, like to be absent from the body, this what makes it important though, to tell them how to have eternal life. So that you have to come from knowing, I’m gonna see him again. I’ll see my son again. It’s so important to know that person new Christ is their savior.

Look up here. Let me hear you this. Now watch now. This is so important. This hand represent you and me. The wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. There’s no difference. We’re all the same in God’s eyes. God, see, he loves us, but he hates our sinful nature and the sinful nature is why we do all the bad things that we do, but God still loves us. Some people think that if they stop doing all these bad things God will love me.

No. Otherwise you’d never get to love you. He loves us while we’re yet sinners, not saints, because He died for me while I was still a sinner, not a saint. So Christ loved me. He hates my sin. But He says the wage is a sin is death. That means eternal separation from God. But God loves us, wants us to go to heaven. And to go to heaven, you have to be perfect, is right to see God, no sin. Because God won’t let no sin in heaven.

Because we’ll do up there what we did here. And God says, no sin permitted. So how can I get to heaven? Well, I got to pay for this first. To pay for my sins is eternal separation from God. If I have to be eternally separated from God, how do I ever get to heaven? You can’t. You cannot save yourself. This is why us trying to save ourselves is impossible and no religion will work. All religions are trying to figure out a way to get you good enough to go to heaven.

It’s a waste of time. This end represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord. He’s God in the flesh. He came into this world because He loves us. Hates our sin because our sin separates us from Him. So Jesus Christ, who had no sin, didn’t have to die. He took all of the sins of all the world. Once and for all, and paid for them on the cross, He came back from the dead. He says, the only thing you and I have to do is believe He did it for us.

us. See, when I believe He did it for me, He put that payment to my account. When John John believed that God put it to His account. And when Trent believed that He put it to His account, when Peter believed that He put it to His account. And if you believe it, He’ll put this payment to your account. You have a payment for all of your sins. It means you won’t have to pay for them. Isn’t that good news?

That’s what Christ did for us. And one day we’re all going to die. But the key is where are you going? When you die. Trust Christ as your Savior today. Trust Him now. This moment and God said He’ll give you as a free gift ever lasting life. Let’s pray, shall we? With his bow nice clothes and no one looking around. I’m not trying to hurt anyone, shame anyone. I’m not trying to add to anyone’s burdens. I’m trying to lift them.

I want you to know that somebody loves you. God loves you. And so do I. Christ died for you. I didn’t. He did something for you. No man can do for you. But he wants you to believe he did it for you. So in the quietness of this moment, you know your center, all of us are. Would you believe that when Christ died, He died for you? Would you trust Him right now as your Savior, will you trust, depend upon Him to take you to heaven whenever you die?

God said, if you will believe it, He will give you as a free gift everlasting life. He says, very, very, I say unto you, He that believe it on me, hath, present tense, hath everlasting life. If you trust Christ right now, He gives you right now everlasting life. And if it’s everlasting life, it’ll last forever. Would you trust Him? I’m gonna ask in just a moment for you to raise your hand, raising your hand does not save you. I’m not going to have you forward not going to embarrass you, but I’d like to know what I said made sense and I’d like to pray for you.

I really would. So is it in what it all say, preacher, that made sense to me and I will trust Christ as my Savior this morning. Friend, would you just slip your hand up very quickly, put a right back down? Just let me know very quickly. Slip it up, put a right back down. In one at all. If you were to die right now, do you know you have eternal life? Do you know the certain you’re going to heaven?

If you have already trusted Christ as your Savior, understand God still loves you and He still wants to bless you. He still wants to guide you, walk with Him, trust Him. Regardless of what you have to face, He’ll walk you through it. Father, we thank you so much for all that you’ve done for us, for the many people that have experienced loss this last week. The Father lost here is a game there. We thank you so much for giving us the truth of your word that brings such comfort.

That we know that we shall see them again. We ask your blessings upon each one here. Bless us in Christ’s name we pray. Are you a new listener to Bibleline? Do you enjoy the teachings of Dr. Arnold?
