Now look what he says in Galatians chapter one, look at verse 10, look there in verse 10. Or do I now persuade men or God? Do I seek to please men? Or if I yet please men, I should not be the servant of Christ. Paul did not do what he did to make people happy. He wanted to please God. And in your life, this is why he takes a stand for these people because he could see that somebody is leading them the wrong way.

So because he loves the people, he’s going to do what God wants them to do and take a strong stand. And that’s what he was doing. he wants to please God, he’ll tell the people the truth. And somewhere in this book he says, am I your enemy because I tell you the truth? Just look at that verse over there real quick and you’ll see that look in Galatians chapter four and verse 16. He says, am I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?

I did my dead level best this morning to speak some truth. It might not have said too well with everybody. I don’t know. I only had one person that said, that weren’t shaking my hand, then they laughed and shook my hand anyway. But I told him, I said, we need to go check. He said, I mean, people went out the side door, I have no clue. But see that verse? And so he says, they in verse seven, they zealously affect you, but not well.

Yay, they would exclude you that you might affect them. In other words, they’re only using you. They don’t really care about you. Here in these verses, now I want you to see this. In verse 19, now what’s this? My little children. So there’s not a question whether he believes or saved or not, he knows they are. He’s wanting to let them to the Lord. He said of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you. So it’s one thing to be a child of God, another thing to have Christ formed in you.

The reason we teach people the world of God so they can mature and be like little Christians, little Christ, like you can be like Christ. Your golden life is not to be like some helly wood star, some movie star, some blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, your golden life not to be like somebody in this metal junk and all the stuff they do with the teenagers and no, no, no, no. You and I are supposed to be like Christ. And that’s why studying the word of God and walking in the spirit, you develop yourself into being like Christ.

And that’s why it’s mentioned in the book of Galatians, that’s mentioned in the book of Ephesians, talking about you have not so learned Christ, but when you learn Christ, so walk ye in Him. So there’s a way that God wants us to live. Now go back to your de Galatians in chapter one. Now you’ll notice at the bottom of your page you’re in your notes, it’s Galatians chapter one, verse six through nine. Now we read this before and went through part of these scriptures, but notice what we have here.

And verse six and seven Paul says, I marvel that you’re so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ into another gospel. But there is not another gospel. He says in verse seven, which is not a, but there be some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ, perverting the gospel, changing the gospel and the only way you can change the gospel of grace you have to add works to it. And when you add works to it, that troubles people because that causes them to wonder and question and doubt their own salvation.

because you have to, because now who’s the judge of whether you’re really saved or not? Well, I know I’m really saved, well, because I’m going to church. Okay, well, what if I lay out a couple of weeks? Oh, no, no, you’re not going to church. Well, how do you know you’re going to the right church? Now you’re gonna give money, okay? Now exactly how much do you have to give? And what if you’re a penny short? Would God get mad if he gave too much?

Let’s try it and not. So it doesn’t matter what the cause is going to be if it comes from work, it’s going to produce the same thing. You’re going to have questions and doubts because you now become the judge, not only of yourself. But now you get out your magnifying glass and you become a fruit inspector. See, well, then not do you find any fruit in somebody else’s life. Oh, I know you’re not saved because look what you’re doing.

Look how you’re living. Or somebody slips and says a bad word, huh, that means you’re lost. Aren’t you glad you’re not saved because you obey a bunch of rules and regulations? I’m glad, I’m glad salvation is free. And that I have eternal life, I’m going to heaven when I die because of how good God’s been to me. And yet he says that he’ll never cast us out and never lose us because our foundation is Christ. And so they’re destroying the salvation message, then they destroy Christ in your v- because you’re not going to only look to Christ now.

Now you’ve also got to look at your life. You got to, it’s like a supplement. You got to look at this too. So I’m not saved because of what he said. I know I’m saved because of what I do. I got a conflict. Now which one do you trust the most? The word of God or your life? And you’re going to have troubles. Now look down here at your notes. And number one, God called you by grace. There’s scriptures for that.

Matthew nine, does God did not call the righteous to repentance, but he calls sinners. In other words, he wants everybody to be saved. God’s not one of the any should perish, but there’s some people that don’t think they’re sinners. There’s some people think they’re righteous enough. So the next verse in Matthew 22, 14, so I’ll talk to that many are called and fewer chosen. Now if Calvinism was true, then everybody he called must get saved. But this verse contradicts Calvinism because many are called, God calls everybody through the power of the gospel, but God only chose to save those that will believe the gospel.

So you see, you’ve got a choice. People have choices. And so he says here at number two, removing themselves from the gospel of grace. Can a believer remove himself from grace? we’ll discuss that later when we get over to chapter 5. And it talks about, you know, being steadfast in the gospel and being steadfast and not being entangled again with that yoke of bondage and so on. But look at the next statement here. You have apostasy and heresy. Apostasy says, there’s people who know the truth but move away from the truth.

They apostasize. They move away from the truth. But then there’s heretics that maybe he never know the truth and they’re teaching outright lies and contradiction to what the truth is. So there’s some people who learn truth and move from it and there’s other people who don’t know what it is and they’re heretic and totally teach that which is false. So a person who is an apostate can teach false doctrine and so there’s people who move away from the guy.

That’s why he says, I’m, Marvin, you so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ. And so that’s why Paul is right in the book of Galatians so they You can see they’re troubling you and they’re having a false message, but they are under a curse. They’re under a curse. And we’ll look at that in just a second here. But notice what he says here in number three. The true gospel is of grace through faith and was given to them by Paul.

The false gospel is of works and is another gospel and was given by the Judaizers. Another heterosan, we mentioned that before. Hit a Ross a different kind. There is not another gospel of the different kind. There’s not another gospel of the same kind. I can have the same kind of a pen, but it could have different writing on it, but it’s the same kind. There’s not even another other one who he’s talking about. There’s not another gospel, but it has a different substance.

There’s another gospel, and you say it by faith, but you had to believe a different set of ingredients. Now there’s not one like that, and there’s not another one that you add works to it. That’s totally different, no. There’s only one gospel and we’re all saved the exact same way. Look at the top of the next page, page three. Look at the top of the page there. There really is not another gospel. Gospel means good news and it falls, now you can have a lot of good news about a lot of different things, but we’re talking about the gospel salvation that saves us from hell.

And a false gospel, one that teaches works of any kind is bad news. It is bad because it doesn’t satisfy the penalty for sin. You see outside of Christ, and what Christ did, there’s nothing that a man or an angel can do for us that would satisfy the demand for a death payment. You see, all the good works should do. There’s nothing there that you can do that could cause death to pay for the sin. So there’s no way for a man to save himself.

We need someone to pay for our sins. And it has nothing to do with our good work, bad works, it’s we have sinned and therefore we have a death payment. So Christ coming in paying for the sin debt is what I needed to go to heaven. You see, I’m a sinner and you’re a sinner, we’re all sinners and we’re all going to hell. And so I liked a little cartoon that I saw recently. Here’s, and we’ve been talking about knowing the flood.

And here’s the ark. And here’s all these people that come and they’re screaming at the door and they’re coming up the side of the yard and Noah opens up the thing and he looks at him and he says, God has a wonderful plan for your life. Because that’s the message. Now there’s people who need to be saved and God has a wonderful plan for your life. They’re on the outside. The water is rising and the flood is coming down upon them and God has a wonderful plan for your life.

Now, do you think they want to stop from it? What is God’s wonderful plan for my life? Now, is that what they need or that they need salvation? They need salvation. They needed to have believed what Noah had preached so they got into the ark. But God shut the door. And so Noah was not looking out of the window. But look here at the top of the page, where it says something that troubles you, is referring to the mental anxiety of having to keep or to maintain good works and the lack of assurance that it can cause, because it causes you to be insecure.

Any time you add works to the gospel, you can’t be sure if you’re going to make it or not. But if it’s by grace, means if it’s free, then everybody can know that. If God will never cast you out in evolution, you can know that from this point on, I’m going to heaven when I die. I don’t have to ever worry about it again. Now, doesn’t that bring more peace than you having to worry about whether or not I’m going to make it or not?

If I’m good enough or not? No, it’s by grace alone. Look at the next statement there. To pervert the gospel of Christ, pervert literally means to transform into something of an opposite character. Adding works to the gospel changes the character of the gospel, it makes it void, which is not another. It can’t say. That’s why when you add works through the gospel, the gospel no longer gospel. When you add works to it, it changes its character. And therefore it’s not a salvation message.

And some people don’t see it, they don’t understand it, but I pray that y’all do get this. Now look at the next statement because this is so important. It also is an attack not up on the gospel message, it’s an attack upon Jesus Christ because the gospel is what reveals what God is like, what Christ is like. And that’s found in the book of 2 Corinthians in chapter 4. Now at number 6 there in letter A, the Judaizers were not merely disturbing the minds of the convert.

They were seeking to remove the foundation on which they depended for salvation, which is grace. They went from having peace and assurance to anxiety and uncertainty. Look at just a moment during Galatians in chapter 4. Look in chapter 4. And it talks about whenever I was there and I preach these things to you. See there in verse 13 of chapter 4, he says, you know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.

I did that. I led you to the Christ and I did these things. He said, and my temptation which was in my flesh, he despised not, nor rejected, but received me as an angel of God, even as Jesus Christ. Where is then this? See that word, blessedness, you speak of? Where’s all this joy? Where’s this happiness you used to have? He says, for I bear you, Rick, if it had been possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and have given them to me.

And in the last chapter, he talks about when he wrote, he says, see what large characters that I have wrote with because we believe that Paul had bad eyesight and he had to write big letters. He says, you would have taken out your own eyes and given to me if you could have done it. Where’s that love you used to have for me? Remember when I came and I preached the gospel unto you at first? Now you turned against me and you’re stabbing me in the back, you’re criticizing the gospel, you don’t believe on him apostle.

He says, where’s all this joy you used to have? He says, it’s not there. He says, oh, they affect you, but not good. And so anyway, it’s good to read. The book of Galatians is one awesome book. You get to sense and feel the way Paul feels about the gospel itself and how important it is, because it’s a difference of heaven and hell. It makes it different where the man goes to heaven and goes to hell. It helps the Christian to know what kind of a message Do you take?

What do you spread? And so look back there at your notes. Look at letter B. A gospel message that is based upon works cannot provide peace and assurance because it begets the question, has the person done enough? When do you know you’ve really done enough? Well, you just do all you can. Have you ever met somebody that’s done all they can? After everybody’s done all they can, have you ever asked them, say, could you’ve done a little bit better?

Well, I could’ve done a little bit better. Then you didn’t do all that you could. Because I could’ve done a little bit more. I could have done a little bit better. Well, if you’re gonna be saved by your works, don’t you think you should have to do all that you can, the best you can? And you could not have done any better? Because if you didn’t, you didn’t do your best. I’m glad we’re not into that. Look at literacy.

It is the message of the gospel that persuades men to salvation, not the effectiveness of the man. It’s God message, that powerful gospel. I have a little short video that I sent out on our newsletter because Greg Steer gave aalienment about people coming to the mission conference. How many of y’all saw that video? I sent it out in my last newsletter.

Not a one of y’all got that newsletter. I saw a couple. I don’t believe it. Then did you listen to it? Any day? I don’t believe it. Then did you listen to it? And he talks about how that he is so thankful because the gospel is so powerful. and he saw what the gospel did to his family and for his uncles. There is power in the gospel. You had one work to the gospel. There’s no power in it. A works message does not transform a person.

It does not change a person. It doesn’t give him salvation. It doesn’t transform his life. Only the true gospel does that. Now look down at the bottom because in chapter one in the book of Galatians, verse eight and nine, It talks about, but though we are an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel on you, then that which we have preached unto you, let him be a curse. As we said before, and so say, now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you, then that we have preached unto you, let him be a curse.

Now, I could say that this word occurs here. Anatoma means that you’re going to hell. But I can’t definitely say that it means that they’re going to hell because there’s sometimes believers who preach a false message. Isn’t that true? But you can’t say, well, now, let them go to hell. They can’t go to hell. So I do believe that it’s referring to meaning doomed to destruction. They’re going to destroy their life, their purpose in life. They’re going to destroy the people that they’re talking to.

It’s going to rob them of peace and love and joy and happiness. That’s why he talks about grace and peace. And almost every one of Paul’s epistles, He starts that off, except maybe the book of Philemon, where he doesn’t give this kind of a salutation in it. But he does talk about this peace and this joy that we’re supposed to have. And notice in letter B, a believer can be doomed to destruction, meaning the chastening of God. You’re gonna be, even a Christian talks about in the book of, let’s see Hebrews in chapter six, and but you have land and your works and so forth you have is the briars and thorns and it’s nigh unto cursing.

But it’s talking about you’re losing your life. It’s going to be all burn up. You’ve heard about the fire that’s supposed to be there at the Judben City of Christ when we’re all judged and our works are burn up. In other words, that’s a destruction of your life. So the gospel is to be clear and we’re supposed to do it right and not to add works to it. And those who do so are bringing a curse upon themselves and upon the people, they’re not helping anybody by preaching such a message.

Because it does not bring peace, doesn’t bring security, doesn’t bring salvation, and therefore it is anathema. And you should cut yourself off from anybody who preaches such a message. Look over there in chapter five of the book of Galatians and notice down there in verse 10. When those people were teaching that you have to keep law in order to be saved and be circumcised to be saved, which is in verse 2 and 3. He also makes the statement there in verse 4, let me just show that verse 4 real quick.

Christ has become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law. In other words, anytime you’re seeking to be justified by the law, then you reject its salvation by grace. But this is also talking about not just a lost man, but this is also to believers and how you’re supposed to live when you reject living by grace and choosing to live by the law, you’re dispelling the greatest power to change your life and how to really live for the Lord.

And so he says, a little 11, 11 at the whole lumped. And so that’s why in verse 7 he says, You did run well. You did run well. So they did run and you ran well. But who did hinder you that you should not obey the truth? Running well is obeying truth. Believing the lie is running bad. You can see that, right? So a little 11 can 11 the whole lump, and then he makes a statement there in verse 10, I have confidence in you through the Lord that you will be none otherwise minded, but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment whosoever he be.

In In other words, there’s judgment for him, which I believe is a reference back to chapter one, and also look at verse 11, where it says, and I brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, like they say I’m supposed to, and then I do, why do I yet suffer persecution? Then is the offense of the cross ceased. In other words, he says, the reason I’m being persecuted is because I don’t add works to the gospel. If I added works to the gospel like they knew, I wouldn’t be persecuted.

But if you’re gonna add works to the gospel, everybody does that, so everybody except, everybody knows you gotta be good to go to heaven. So just tell people to be good. Come to church, give money. You’re okay, you’re good to go. But you say you’re not saved by that, you’re saved by grace alone. And the first thing that everybody used to ask me, if they really understand a part of what I’m saying, they always ask me, yeah, but what if?

You try to tell me I can go out here and kill somebody. They always try to pick the worst thing they can think of. If I go out of here and I kill somebody, you mean I’m still gonna go to heaven when I die? And they expect me to say, what? No, I don’t mean that. Well, then I’m lying. I’m not saying I really know then. Does it matter if it’s murder, or if you go out of here and you commit a lie, you just tell a lie.

You just had a bad thought. No. And I usually say this, Let’s just pretend. If all I go out of here and I kill somebody and I die, and I go to heaven, let me grace, wouldn’t it? Would that be grace? Now did I deserve to go to heaven? That’s grace, ain’t it? Now if I didn’t go there, it must be I was trying to save myself by my works. duh, anyway, go back here to your notes.

Down here, number three, I’ll see when we’ll just start there at number two there. It is polluted by man when he tries to improve what God has created. The gospel message is polluted when men use words, God does not use as a way to enhance the message. Now, we’re talking about explaining things as one thing, but when you’re using words that contradict and change that message into something else, we have to be very, very careful. The great word anathema is used to describe an offering made from a vow to false gods.

It would be hung in a conspicuous place. But anyway, you can read that number five, the reference to an angel from heaven is Paul’s advice by using the most imaginable, improbable source to make his point. He uses the same device for 1 Corinthians in chapter 13. He says, I fear, I fear, lest somebody is gonna change and cause you to believe, because you’ll bear with them and you’ll believe a false Jesus and a false gospel and a false spirit.

And then it says 13, 14, 15, he says, it’s not strange that Satan’s ministers are an angel of light because he’s transforming to an angel of light. And they preach man’s righteousness. And of course, that means you don’t trust Christ, you’re gonna trust in your good life. And God teaches against that. that down at the bottom of the page there, I finished with these two things here. No heavenly angel can promote a false gospel. A heavenly angel. Is there gonna be an angel preaching in the tribulation period?

Bible says it’s gonna be a never lasting angel preaching the gospel, didn’t you? Well, it can’t preach the false gospel. Mormonism, the church of Latter-day Saints, is founded upon the myth that Joseph Smith encountered the angel Moroni who gave him two plates that had the book of Mormons in them. Therefore, because an angel did it. But what does the Bible say? Even if an angel preached unto you, any other gospel to that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

That is not the right message. It is a false message. It corrupts the mind. The Book of Mormon is in complete contradiction to the biblical doctrine of justification by grace through faith. You can only be justified by faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other way. look up here. This isn’t representing you and me, the wallet represents sin, we all have sin on us. Everybody sins. And because we have all sinned, we’re all condemned. And the wages of sin is death, eternal separation from God and hell.

But God loves us, wants us to go to heaven and go to heaven, we have to be perfect, as righteous as God and none of us are perfect. And there’s no amount of works that we can do to take away our sins. And to trust in all of these so-called good works, the Bible says when you trust in these good works, depart from me ye workers of iniquity. All those good works becomes works of iniquity. They’re not good works.

A good man can bring forth some good works, but God says we’re all sinners and all of our so-called good works are sins. And that’s why he says all of our righteousness are as not our, we’re not our sins. worst, our best, our righteousness as filthy rags. But the Lord has laid all of our sins upon Jesus Christ. This is Jesus Christ. He laid all of our sins upon Him. And He paid for our sins, came back from the dead.

See, now there’s no amount of good works that I can do that can never pay for my sins. And that’s what I need. What’s keeping me out of heaven? These sins, I got a debt and I got to pay, I owe. But I need something that can give me a new birth, where I could be born without a sinful nature. And that’s why when I accept this payment he made on the cross from me, God considers this as my death.

I died, I paid for my sins, but Christ did it for me. And so when he came back from the dead, I came back from the dead and I was born resurrected without a sinful nature and my new birth is perfect and good to go. That’s why the day I trust Christ as my Savior, I’m good to go to heaven. that very moment. Now for the last 58 years, my new birth has not improved in any righteousness and in any perfection because it was as perfect that day as it will always be for all eternity.

And I know that y’all got all of that. Shake your head like this. That makes me think you really understand everything. Let’s pray, shall we? With heads bowed nice and closed, no one looking around. Or if you’re watching by internet. And I’m so glad today to see somebody trusts the Lord on the internet. I forgot where they were, but they trusted the Lord. And then after the Sunday school class, somebody trusts the Lord at that time. So we never know who’s gonna be watching, but whether you’re in the auditorium or you’re watching by internet, if you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, why not do it right now?

You don’t know when you’re gonna die and it could be at any moment. Wouldn’t it be nice that when you die, you know that you’re going to heaven and you’ll open your eyes and be in that heavenly place? eternal joy, eternal pleasures, forever and ever. Would you trust Christ to save you? If you will, God will save you. Believe in the heat of that light, cross pay for your sins and he will save you. Save you from hell, give you eternal life and you can know that you’re going to heaven because they’ll never cast you out and never lose you.

It’s the best news in the world. But if you’ve never made that decision, and you want to hear in the audience, if you say, yes, that made sense to me and tonight I will trust Christ as my savior. Would you just slip you in it very quickly and put her up back down? Anyone at all? Anyone at all? Father, we are thankful so much. You’ve been so good to us. We thank you for our church, for all the facilities you’re giving us.

We thank you for the location of our church. We thank you for the internet ministry, and for the radio, and the ranch, and the Iwanah program, the speed, and even tonight.
