I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of Matthew, the book of Matthew and chapter 7. chapter 7. Things that are different are not the same. I am so glad that God made men and women and they’re not the same. They are not the same. God forbid when a man wants to act like a woman and a woman wants to act like a man. That is not how God intended it and And I will not compromise the Word of God until God changes his Word.

I’m going to hold to what the book says and go with, there is a woman and there is a man and they’re not the same. And they’re different. And I think they’re different in a good way too. The Bible says he that findeth a woman, findeth a good thing. So whatever she is, she’s a good thing. Now we’re not talking about women today, but the title of the message, things that are different are not the same. Jesus Christ, God in the flesh came into this world and He would always say words of wisdom.

You know you can’t get any smarter than God. You can’t get any wiser than God. So when He was here, He said things to help people to understand things that you would think people would easily understand and he spoke plainly clearly. So I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of Matthew in chapter 7 where the Bible makes a statement in verse 1, judge not that you be not judged, for with what judgment you judge you shall be judged, and with what measure you meet it shall be measured to you again.

And why behold us thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye but consider not the beam that is in thine own eye. Or how will thou say to thy brother, let me pull out the moat out of thine eye and behold a beam is in thine eye. Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the moat that is in thy brother’s eye. Another way of saying this is when you live in a glass house be careful don’t throw stones because people are going to throw stones back.

And always remember that whenever you’re pointing your finger at somebody else you’ve got three pointing back at yourself. You’ve often heard people say you know, judge that you be not just not pose a judge, not pose a judge. That means they’re doing something not pose a do but you’re not pose a judge. Well, that’s not what this is talking about. This is talking about judging just the opposite of what Moo Poo Poo say it’s not talking about. It’s talking about discernment.

The reason we study truth is so we can discern air. You study the will of God so you can discern the difference between the will of God and the will of man because things that are different are not the same. And God says, your thoughts are not my thought, neither are your ways, my ways because they’re different. You see, he’s on a higher plane than what we are. There is a divine perspective and there is a human perspective. The way we see things, and there’s a way God sees things, and they’re different and they’re not the same.

So he says when you’re going to judge somebody be careful how you judge because that’s the way you’re going to be judged. If you judge without mercy you’re going to be judged without mercy. In other words, if you make decisions because you’re trying to be constructive, that’s one thing, but when you’re trying to be destructive, that’s not the same thing. He says not to just see the fault in other people, but before you say something, you might need to do some self-examination to see whether or not do I have any moats in my eye.

Well, the illustration he gives here is amazing how the people can see Asia. A little splinter in somebody else’s eye, but they cannot detect the two before that’s sticking out of their own eye. And it’s easily to judge. In the book of Romans in chapter 2, it says, thou that condemneth and judgeth another, doest thou not the same thing. we’re all people, we all have a sin for nature, then we all sin. It’s just that somebody may not be doing the one that you’re doing, but you may be sinning and they may be sinning, but it’s amazing how we would get so much better along if we could give people a little space, learning to forgive.

The Bible also says love covers a multitude of sins. In other words, you don’t always have to straighten out everybody. You don’t always have to correct everybody. You know that your wife is always right. You know that. She knows that too. But you don’t have to always women be right. I was told this, anytime a man and a woman have an argument, when the man finishes arguing, that’s the end of the conversation because the next words is a new argument.

And she’s always right. So don’t argue with them. Learning to distinguish between words of wisdom and to shut up. You’ll be surprised that when it comes to things that happen at home with the kids or on jobs, how easy it is to judge somebody else’s motive. I had a man tell me one day, he says, Yankee, I am behind you 100%. 100% I’m behind you all the way. I says, can you just tell me why? He says, because I agree with your motives.

It didn’t last long because he thought I had changed my motive. He found out my real motive. And sometimes people can get along fine until they know you’re real motive. Well I’ve always tried to have you know a good motive, a godly motive of why I do whatever I do. But it’s always amazing how they can agree and then when they disagree. Well I just don’t question his motives. Look at that verse again. In verse 4, or what they’ll say to the Abraham that let me pull out the out of by now and behold a beam is in thy thal hypocrite.

He says first cast out the beam out of I know in other words before you start trying to straighten out somebody out turn the flashlight back over on you and see is there anything that I need to straighten out in my own life and it will help you. Now this is what God says to do but some people will not be able to discern what that means and it’s like they never hear it and they’ll to go on and do exactly the same thing anyway.

Look in Matthew chapter seven, in verse seven. Now there’s several things that are mentioned here. He says, asking it shall be given you, seeking it shall find, knocking it shall be opened into you for everyone that asks it to receive it, then he that seek could find it then him that knocking it shall be opened. In other words, we do not can keep knocking, asking keep asking, seeking keep seeking. Not just at one time, but being persistent. And you’ll find that you’ll find the will of God for your life, for somebody who really wants to know.

Have you ever said something like, Lord, make me a soul winner? And that was it. Now, if I don’t become a soul, and it won’t be my fault, it’s God’s fault, because I asked him to do it, and he didn’t do it. Lord, make me faithful. Okay, I’m not faithful. Well, it’s not my fault, it’s God. I told God to make me faithful. You see, but that’s not God’s responsibility. That’s yours. You’re to be found faithful. You’re to do the things that you’re supposed to do.

Wave them carefully. Look what he have here. What he makes the statement in verse nine. Well, what man is there of you whom if his son asked bread, will he give him a stone? In other words, if your son will have that, what if you asked your heavenly father? Do you think God plays tricks on you? Do you think God got up on the bad side of the bed this morning and he just out to get you? And he looks over the banister of heaven and he’s going to get you one way or the other.

And he’s got all these bad things lined up for you today. Lord, God is just designed to make you miserable. You’d be surprised. I mean, people think that way. And all the bad things that seem to happen in their life, they want to blame God for it because if God is in charge, well, then God permitted it. And if God permitted it, what’s He got against me? What did I do wrong? I didn’t ask to be born. Who did?

And yet you’ll find out all these things that happen because if you do not understand why God does what He does or allows to happen what He does, then you’re going to prejudge and you’re going to judge incorrectly and your judgment’s not going to be right. It means you’ve still got a two before in your eye and you can’t see clearly. You cannot discern. The next statement was in verse 10, and if you ask for a fish, well, he give them a serpent.

Here’s your child. Mommy, I’m hungry. Sure, hun. Here’s a rattlesnake. He did. Well, he says, okay, if it’s dead, but what if it’s still alive? In other words, you don’t do that. And some people falsely accuse God of doing the wrong things. You know, Mary and Martha, well, Jesus, if you had been here at Lazarus would not have died. The reason he died is your fault. If you’d been here, this wouldn’t have happened. Lord, if you really loved me, my husband wouldn’t have left me.

Or if really loved me. I mean my kids would not have died. If you really loved me, I’d have money to pay all my bills if you really loved me. Yet God says the way He proved that He loved you was that He sent His Son to down the cross and pay for your sins. You see from His perspective He showed that He really loved you. But see you’re going to have something else and sometimes your kids. He may draw some stupid little old picture and give it to you.

Mommy, I love you. I love you. Mommy. Well, if you love me, you go clean your own. If you love me, you know, made your bed. If you love me, you know, cut the grass. If you love me, well, he was trying to show you the only way he knew how. Doing those things may not have been a different perspective, child perspective, adult perspective. See how you see things that are different are not the same. But we judge incorrectly.

Remember, all these things are right here in the same chapter. Judge it to be not judged. Now, that’s mentioned also in the book of James in chapter 2. when it talks about here we are one of these days we’re going to stand before the jubbins of the Christ and God is going to judge you according to how you judged and the things that you said and did and every idle word all these things are so important look at the next thing in verse 11 where it says if you then be an evil know how to give good gifts unto your children how much more how much more shall your father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him so all this is about you’ve been able to discern.

You’ve been able to make good decisions and you’re not falsely accusing God because there’s people who turn against God because God didn’t do what they think that God ought to do and you falsely accused. That reveals a lack of spiritual discernment. Now look in chapter 7 and look there in verse 15. Verse 15 is a very interesting verse. Well, we’ll start in verse 13, because verse 13 and 14 talks about several things. One, enter ye in at the straight gate for why does the gate, broad as the way that lead up to the structure, and then many there be which go in there.

Because straight as the gate narrows the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Now in your little notes, sir, you’ll have there’s a narrow gate and a wide gate, narrow Broadway, but what does he mean by that? I can’t see any way at all. It’s the way that you have this gift of eternal life. How does a man get from where he is to heaven? How does he get this eternal life? This is what we all want.

But so he’s talking about entering in or be casting out. And so there’s several things that are mentioned there. And he makes the statement, many are on the Broadway and few are on the narrow way. What does it mean by that? You see, there’s a lot of people that are religious, but religious doesn’t mean salvation. It doesn’t mean you’re going to heaven when you die. You see, you don’t go to church to go to heaven. You don’t give money to go to heaven.

You don’t have to be good to go to heaven. But what does most people think? That’s what you’ve got to do. They think that heaven is a destination that is the result of how good you lived. And there’s a hell… And that’s a destination because of how bad you live. So you have to wait till you die to find out whether you’re going up or whetherillance going down, whether you’re going to heaven or whether you’re going to hell. So you have to wait till you die to find out how good was I was.

I good enough to go to heaven or was I too bad and I got to go to hell. And so you think you have to wait till the end of life because you haven’t finished living yet. So you haven’t done all the good yet. You haven’t done all the bad yet. So you have to wait till you die to find out where you’re going to go. But that’s religion. You see, I don’t have to wait till I die. I’m now almost 77, but I trusted Christ when I was 18 years old.

So for 58, almost 59 years, I have known that I’m going to heaven whenever I die. Why? Because it doesn’t have anything to do with how I live. If it has anything to do with how I live, then I’ll have to wait till IWisconsin. If I live, good enough. Did I qualify? But I don’t have to qualify for you. All I had to do would be reprimed. Hey, that’s me. I qualify. I’m a senator. And so all I had to do was trust Christ USL.

But it says, few there be that find it. Broad is the way. So there’s not going to EVENT people probably in heaven. There’s not going to be in hell. They’re going to be bored on hell. And isn’t it a shame that churches can be filled to the brim every Sunday and lo and behold majority of people have have no clue where they’re gonna go and they die. And yet the Bible says you can know that you have eternal life, you can know that you’re going to have it when you die.

That’s what the whole thing is about. But can you discern that? There is a difference. There’s a difference in going God’s way and man’s way. There’s a difference between the narrow and the wide and the many and the few. They’re not the same. The consequences, they’re not the same. They’re different. And so God explains all these things to us. Now in verse 15 to 23, I wrote down a few little notes here. There’s a false prophet in the true prophet.

You see in verse 15, beware of false prophets, Krugens, why? Because they lie. False prophet doesn’t tell you the truth. A false prophet has a false message. And what’s the danger of many people believing a false message? But you look up there in verse 22, many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord. So there is the real Lord and there’s a false prophets. And verse 21, Lord, Lord, there is the truth, and there’s the air, and they’re not the same.

There’s a difference. The one that determines where you go is not the false prophet. The false prophet doesn’t tell you the truth about how to go to heaven. And remember this, any preacher, and I mean this kindly, well, almost kindly. that tells you you can be saved by how you live. He’s false. He ain’t worth a quarter. He’s not helping anybody. If he tells you to live the good life to go to heaven, he is not of God. That is not the message of the gospel.

If any preacher tells you that if you do bad, after you suppose he had been saved, and if you do wrong, you can lose it and still go to hell. that preacher doesn’t understand the gospel. That’s not the Bible. That’s looking at things from a human point of view, not from God’s point of view. God says, you can know you have eternal life, and he said, I’ll never cast you out and never lose you. So I know that I have eternal life.

Now he gets down here and he talks about a good tree. See there in verse 17? He says, even so every good tree bring a fourth good fruit, but a corrupt tree bring forth evil fruit. And he says, you’ll know them by their fruit. How can you recognize a person by their fruit? Well, you see, everybody who has bad fruit has a bad root. If he got bad fruit, then he’s not a good tree. You see what he says in verse 19?

He says, every tree that bring not fourth good fruit is you down and cast into the fire. Well, verse 18, good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit. Neither can the corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. You’re either a good tree or a bad tree. There is no in-betweens. They’re different. They’re not the same. There is a good tree and there’s a bad tree. Well, lo and behold, everyone born into this world came with a sinful nature. So we have a bad root.

We got bad fruit. And we’re all bad trees. We cannot save our cells and you can know them by their fruit. Any person who sends gotLiquid nature and that’s a bad tree. That’s everybody in this room. That’s everybody in the world. There’s only one person who was ever Rarity in this world that was a good tree. Because he came from a good root, he had good fruit, therefore he didn’t have to die. But the bad tree is cut down.

The good tree is not cut down. Christ did not have to die. So he took all the sins of all the world, all the fruit that we’ve done, and he paid for everything on the cross. And so when you get up here to the next verse, you’ll notice that there’s two wills. There’s the will of man. And verse 21, not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. But he that doeth the will of my father.

But didn’t says, many will say to me, Lord, Lord, have we not? They did what they did, but they didn’t do what God says do. The only thing they didn’t mention here was they were trusting Christ as their savior. Why did they think they should go into heaven? Look what I did. Let’s just pretend for a moment. I’m God. I like it so far. I’m God, and this is the purlage gate, and you wanna get in. And I asked you, this is my heaven.

Now why should I let you into my heaven? And you would say, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? Thy name cast out devils, and thy name done many wonderful works, we’ve done all of that. And I say, I never knew you. Depart from me, you cursed. See, well, why? Well, because see, what were they depending upon to get in men? They’re wonderful works. Look what we have done. Oh, here comes a sinner. Here comes a Yankee arm liner.

Okay, and there’s God up here. And God says, now, why should I let you into my heaven? And I says, because Jesus Christ died on the cross and paid for all my sins. And I believe it. And you promised. I got him. So he can get out of that. Because it depended upon what Christ did and the promise God made. If I trusted Christ as my Savior, He said He’d give me eternal life as a free gift. The only reason I’m going to heaven because Christ paid for my sin is not because I’m a preacher, it’s not because I go to church, it’s not because I give money.

eternal life is a gift of God. And I accepted that gift years ago and that gift of eternal life, how long would the gift of eternal life last? Forever. So that’s how I know I’m going to see. They never said that. But he told me and says you have to do the will of the Father. What’s the will of the Father? Believe on Jesus Christ. They said look what we cast out devils and we spoke in tongues and we went to church with the deacon and of an elder and I gave money and I lived a good life because it doesn’t count.

And that’s why he says in verse 23, then when I profess unto them, I never knew you. Well, I used to know you, but I don’t know you anymore. No, he said, never knew you. You never saved. You’re not saved by trusting in your good works to get you to heaven. It will not work. Now, look at the next scripture here. In Matthew chapter 7 or 24, There’s several things that are mentioned here. And verse 24, he says, these sayings of mine.

Do you hear what I’m saying? He that hath ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit said unto the churches. Here he’s talking about, he that hath ears to hear. Do you understand what I’m saying? Now, who is talking? This is God in the flesh. Jesus Christ, God inside, he’s talking. He says, do you understand what I’m saying? So he says there in verse 24. Therefore, whosoever, hereth these sayings of mine, in other words, everything we just read, if you understand that, then you ought not be caught believing a false message.

You ought to believe the truth. You’re saved by grace. You’re not saved by your works. Can you discern there’s a judgment call here? So he says there in verse 24, therefore, whosoever hereth these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man who built his house upon a rock. There’s three things there. The sayings, what he said, being a wise man and building upon a rock. In other words, the rock will not move and you’ll be a wise man.

So that’s why the man who led me to Christ, God told him he that when he sold his wives, he was wise because he led me to Christ. And I want to be wise because I want to lead other people to Christ. If you want to be wise, lead other people to learn. He that when his souls is wise. Now, either you are or you’re not. Have you ever led anybody to Christ? Have you ever got somebody to put their trust in the Lord?

And they have that solid security they’re on the rock. See, the rock is Christ. So now that I’m on Christ, I’m supposed to build my house upon a rock, upon the teaching found in the Word of God. And God said, if I will build my life, me. You see, what you do in life and what you produce in life or your ministries in life, all those are by products of whatever you are. You see, God says, building up yourselves in your most holy faith, and then whatever you are, you reproduce.

You’ll reproduce whatever you are. And so God says, I want you to be built upon my word, and when the storms of life come, and they will, and the range are gonna fall, the winds are gonna blow, and you’d be surprised how many people’s lives are smashed. They just had a hurricane hit up here in North Carolina. And some people got out, some people didn’t. Some of the floods came, some houses a fell, the winds did blow, but there’ll be some that were probably built up on a rock, a better foundation and it’ll stand.”

God said, this is the way it is with your life. You as an individual, are you solid as a rock and you’re not swayed by every wind of doctrine that comes along. Are you steadfast? That’s what God wants. Now notice what he says here in verse 25, and the rains descended, the floods came, the winds blew. You see, whether you’re saved or whether you’re lost. You have the same problems in life. You still get hungry. Well, I’m a Christian, I don’t get hungry anymore.

Well, now that I’m a Christian, I don’t have to go to work. I don’t have to have you in the church because I’m just trusting the Lord. How’s that working for you? And you’d be surprised just because, and I’ll tell people this, but you got up this morning, you looked in the mirror and you were ugly. You came to church, you trusted Christ as Savior, you go back home and look in the mirror, you’re still ugly. You see that didn’t change, because that’s different.

He gave you a spiritual birth, he didn’t change the physical birth. Now if God’s going to change me physically, I would expect to look differently, but he’d never touch my body. And one of these days it’s gonna keep on until it deteriorates and then I can’t live in more and I’m gonna have to move out. But look what he said in verse 20, everyone that hear these sayings of mine and do it them not, you hear it but you don’t make the right decision.

You make the wrong choices. It’s like I heard it but in one ear out the other ear and you go ahead and live your life in the way you want to do it anyway. Okay, but you’re gonna fall apart sooner or later. The pressures of life. And God says, unless you serve the Lord with joyfulness of heart, I will put a yoke of iron upon your neck until it destroys you. And that yoke of iron is all the pressures of life weighing down upon you.

And say, I can’t hell it. Well, of course you can’t hell it. You could have, but you didn’t do it. Cast all your cares upon him for he care for you because you’re trying to bear everything. Learn to trust the Lord. Learn how to walk with God. But you’ll be wise if you do, but if you don’t, you’re building on a house of sand, it’s on sand, and it shakes and it moves. It’s not firm. And you wonder why you’re having all your emotional problems?

You ask for it. You got to stabilize the mind. God does not give an assistive fear but of power, love, and of a sound mind. It comes from a sound word, sound doctrine. Knowing what God says to do. And then the things that happens to you in life. You don’t have to fall apart just because the worlds fall on the part. But like he says to his disciples, do you understand what I’m saying? Do you hear what I’m saying?
