God must be just when He judges because people are always sitting in judgment on God. So he says, which did corrupt, he judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, praise the Lord, and her smoke rose up forever and ever. Not just a word about that verse. You say, that means that if it happens in New York City, smoke will go up forever and never, never, never, never.
Or if it was wrong, wrong will burn forever and never, never, never, never. Or if it is Jerusalem, we’re burning forever and ever and ever and ever. Well, I don’t think it’s talking about the land. Look there in chapter 14 in verse 11. Chapter 14 verse 11. And you’ll notice something else here. And the smoke of their torment, I’ll send it up for ever and ever. It’s the smoke of their torment. It’s not the ashes from the rubble that go up forever and ever and ever.
It’s the people that God has judged. It’s the people that are dead. It’s the people that are in the lake of fire. And the smoke of their torment ascended up forever, never. So go back here to chapter 19. In verse 4 and the 4 and 20 elders, and the four beasts fell down and worshiped God. That said of the throne saying, Amen, praise the Lord, hallelujah. And a voice came out of the throne saying, praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him both small and great, the moment has arrived.
And he said, I heard a great voice in heaven, and you thought of picture all these people that are in heaven from Adam all the way down that are in heaven. All these angels and all this hollering, shouting, probably sounds like thunder. Ted, you always wanted to hear this thunder. It’s coming bud, just hanging there, just a little bit longer, you’ll hear it. He always wants to have an audio of the greatest thunder that’s ever hit up on planet earth.
Well, I think what’s going to happen when we get to heaven is going to be some of the loudest thunder you’ve ever heard in your life of people praising the Lord and their voices sound like thundering. But get what he says here. He says in the last part of it, verse 6, the Lord God, omnipotent reign it. You ever heard that phrase before like in Hand of the Messiah? That’s where it comes from. That phrase is used several times in that song.
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. A thousand ways of saying, Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Now verse 7, to verse 10 talks about another issue, something that’s going to take place in heaven. There’s going to be the marriage of the Lamb, the marriage of the Lamb. You heard me say before the next time I get married I’ll be the bride. First time I was I was the groom. Next time I won’t be the bride. Whenever you trusted Christ as your Savior you were born and placed into the body of Christ and all believers from Pentecost to the rapture are the bride of Christ.
You see, and I mentioned to you before, he was God, Jehovah. And God took this little old nation that started because of a miracle birth by two old folks. They were Ham and Surah and they had a son. And from that son, a son. And from that son, twelve sons. And from those twelve, twelve tribes. They’re down in Egypt and they kind of incubated there for 400 years. And God brought them out and he had a great nation. And God wanted to get married.
And he marries the nation’s name. of Israel and he brings her to his holy mountain scared of the death and he proposed to her and she says all that you have commanded me we will do. We will do it. I do, you do, we do, we’re married. So Jehovah took Israel to be his wife. So God has a wife. Nah, I know it sounds strange, but follow the illustration. Don’t get in out of shape. God’s one of the sun.
God’s one of the sun that would be just like him. He wanted to have a perfect son. It took a while, but lo and behold, there was this virgin. The Holy Spirit came and placed the seed inside of that woman. And it says, that holy thing shall be called the son of the highest. So Israel is the wife and God, the Father and the wife, they have a son. But the woman doesn’t want her son. It’s cast him out.
So he was taken up to be with the Lord. God has allowed all those who believe in His Son to be made perfect. God, see, is looking for a perfect bride for His perfect son. And His Son is perfect, has no sin. So He has to have a perfect bride. But you and I, well, there is nobody perfect. So He said, He’ll make us perfect. So by the new birth, you are given the divine nature of God. So every one of us who are born into God’s family have been made pure and holy and set apart.
And so all of these from Pentecost to the Raptor are set apart and we form the bride of Christ. And so God says at the marriage supper of the Lamb, see we’re the one that’s going to be there, but But before we get to the marriage, we have to have a wedding dress. Now you and I know that we’re dressed in the righteousness of Christ when we trust Christ as Savior. But these verses are talking about a little bit more than just the righteousness of Christ.
Look there in verse 7, let us be glad and rejoice and give honor to Him for the marriage of the Lamb is come and his wife has made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be a raid in fine linen, clean and white, but fine linen is the righteousness of saints of the rights acts of the saints. So where did we just go right before the Mary of the Lamb? We just went to the judgment seat of Christ.
At the judgment seat of Christ, who and I are going to be judged or rewarded for what we’ve done for the Lord to decipher whether or not your works go, silver, and precious stone door, hey, wouldn’t stubble. So you’ve got to find out what sort it is. The hay, wood, and stubble, that’s the wasted life. And this is what you did for Christ that will last. And God is going to, I guess, in some way, see everybody has to have a, or should have a, you know, a dowry.
we get? So we’re going to have our crowns or our certain dress is going to have something that distinguishes and it says like we shall all shine as the brightness of the firmness and the stars and so forth in the book of Daniel in chapter 12. But whatever it is, your service to the Lord now, I believe, depending on what you wear to the wedding. And when you go to the wedding, we’re addressing the righteous acts of the saints.
There’s going to be the banquet hall. If you listen real quietly, you can hear him rattling the Civil War if you’re getting ready. It’s going to take place any day now. And we’re going to be at this big wedding. And then we’re coming to the earth with the Lord. Now you don’t have to worry about it. Is he going to take us on our honeymoon to the Battle of Armageddon?
I mean, is that a place to take your wife? But we know that he is coming back, power and great glory, and he’s going to get everything set up by him. Remember whenever he left, he said, I go to prepare a place for you. Now remember, in Jewish custom, it was generally the father that tried to find the right bride for the son. And then she was to get ready because she didn’t know exactly when he was going to show up.
Well see, the whole principle is based upon this story. It’s a truth. I mean, it’s unreal. So we don’t know exactly when he’s going to show up, but we’re supposed to be ready and be looking for him. Now that’s true for the rapture, but we don’t know when it’s going to happen. But this is also talking about when Christ comes back in power and great glory to the year for the nation of Israel. And he says, they’re supposed to be looking because he, when he comes back, he’s going to set up his kingdom upon the earth.
And this time when he shows up, they will as a people, as a nation, accept Jesus Christ as the king. And he will set up his kingdom upon this earth. But look what he says here. In verse 9, and he said to them, right, blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. Now I believe the guest of the Old Testament saints. I believe they’ll be there. told their dead and I believe they’ve gone to heaven, but they’re not part of the church.
In verse 11, he said, I saw heaven open, behold a white horse and he that said unto him was called faithful and true and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. Now where is he headed right now? Well let me show you this, see they’re in verse 19? Verse 19, so you can see it. And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against him that set on the horse and against his army.
So the beast and the kings of the earth are all coming together to make war on him that set on the horse. So somehow those that are on the earth will be able to see him coming before he gets here. So they’re looking through some telescope. Can they see something coming from out of space? I mean, if they see Him coming before He gets here, that’s awesome. Wouldn’t that scare you to death? Somebody’s coming. They’re getting closer. That’s Donald Asteroid.
Hold your place and look here in Matthew chapter 24, Matthew and chapter 24. This is an interesting verse. Matthew chapter 24. And look there in verse, oh, we’ll just start there in verse 27. Because this is pretty much the same place that we’re reading over there in the book of Revelation, chapter 19, where it says in verse 27, for as the lightning comeeth out of the east, shining even into the west, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.
Now, this is not the rapture. This is not when he comes for you and I, seven years before. He came right now, we would best disappear out of this room and we’re with the Lord. This is talking about at the end of the tribulation period, that seven years. Christ comes back. And so he then he says there in verse 28, for where silver the carcasses there where the eagles be gathered together. That’s the battle of Armageddon when all the birds come to eat and the feast upon all the bodies that are in the plains of Jezreo.
Now look at verse 29, immediately after the tribulation of those days, shall the sun be dark and the most should not give our life, stars shall fall from heaven and the powers of the heaven shall be shaken. And get this word, then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. Now Jesus Christ appearing, that is the sign. Because he talks about this is the sign of his coming. They want to win the sign of Yucatan when I appear.
And the light will shine as far as the east is to the west. Imagine what it’s going to look like. But they’ll see him coming before he actually gets to the earth. And give what else he says. He says, and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man, heaven already arrived. No, coming in the clouds. See him coming in the clouds of him with power and great glory. So they will see him coming before he ever gets here.
Just don’t like oh he must have come last night. No, no, he’s coming they seem coming Now go back here to the book of Revelation They will literally see it happening and look in Revelation chapter 16 Revelation chapter 16 And look down in verse 13. Here you have a picture of the unholy Trinity The Holy Trinity, the God, the Father, God, the Son, God, the Holy Spirit. This is the unholy Trinity where you got the devil, the beast of the false prophet.
And it says there in verse 14, and they are the spirits of devils working miracles which go forth unto the getth kings of the earth, and of the whole world to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Behold, I come as a thief, blessed is he that watch it and keep it his garment, lest he should make it, and they shall see a shame. And he gathered them together in the place called in the Hebrew tongue.
Armageddon. So this is when they are going to gather themselves together for this great battle and they’re going to take on God. They see him coming. You know, I may not be the smartest guy in the world, but if I knew this is what’s going on and I know it’s right right here in the Bible and I don’t believe it but it says so this is what’s going to happen. I was like, hey, we lose. I’m out of here.
Why would you want to go through it? I’m so stupid. But they do it because they’re blind. And there’s people that are living today that haven’t got a clue at what in the world is going on in the world. Reading the Bible is like reading tomorrow’s newspaper. It’s more of the date than the world. And it doesn’t have to be changed and doesn’t have to be edited and there’s no apologies printed the next day we made a mistake. I don’t know if you ever seen that in some of the papers, you know, we made a mistake.
No mistakes here. All right, look back there now in the Revelation chapter 19. So we know the Lord is coming back in power, great glory. Every eye will see Him, those that are on the earth, and He says in verse 13, and He was clothed with a vestre dipped in blood in his name is called the word of God. So we know who it is. This is the Lord. And in verse 40, and the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine land, white and clean.
And out of his mouth go of a sharp sword that way that he should smite the nations. And he will rule them with a rod of iron. See when Christ comes back now, he comes back as the king that Israel thought he would show up the first time. They were looking for somebody that could deliver them from the iron heel of Rome. And here comes this lamb riding on a doggy. That’s not really what they were looking for. You see the first time he came he came as the lamb the next time he comes as a lion of the tribe of Judah.
So the Bible says that the prophets of old had a little trouble trying to understand and to discern the difference between the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow. No they look here in the book of Jude the book of Jude right before the book of Revelation, but look there in the book of Jude and you’ll find out way back there before the flood, before the flood, before the flood. Think about this. There was a preacher back there before the flood that told about this.
You see there in verse 14 of the book of Jude and And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold the Lord, cometh with ten thousands of his saints. Who preached that? Enoch? Remember Enoch was the one who had the testimony that he walked with God and he was not for God. Took him. He preached that before the flood. Hey, Jesus is coming, coming with 10,000 of us. But where does it say that in all those?
But see, they knew things that we’d say, well, they couldn’t have known that. They didn’t know that. Yet they understood a lot more than you think they knew. Bobble says that Noah was a preacher of righteousness. You think it was a preacher of man’s righteousness or Christ’s righteousness. They understood. They knew more than we think they knew. But he says, the whole, the Lord, come with ten thousands of his saints. And after all these years, here he comes, ready or not, your play hide and seek.
I used to love to play hide and seek. I could hide and never find me. But anyway, Revelation chapter 19. And he says in verse 15, and out of his mouth, go up the sharp, throw it with it. He should smite the nations and he will rule them with the rod of iron. See, he’s coming back now as the king. He’s going to set up his kingdom upon the earth and he’s going to rule the nations with the rod of iron.
This kingdom upon the earth is why when you study the book of Matthew, it picture Jesus Christ as the king of the line of the tribe of Judah. And that’s where he says, if a man slap you on cheek, you turn the other cheek. Because he’s here. You see, I don’t care if you smack me on my cheek. As long as I know Jesus is here and he’s gonna get you. But he ain’t here yet. Don’t try it. And if I sue you, give me another coat too.
Go with me one mile. No two miles. No matter what. Because there’s somebody here that’s a righteous judge and this the Lord he sees no jiveth, he rules with a rod of iron. You can’t put it with anything. He’s here. Throw all of them. But then he says in verse 16 and he hath on his vestra on his thy name written king of kings Lord of lords This is who he is And so there’s all these kings have all gotten together the greatest king they’ve ever had rules the whole world Well, how did he do how did he do boy?
He brought in a Everything everybody needed probably brought in Obamacare everybody had health insurance Taking care from the cradle to the grave. Everybody got everything you ever wanted. What was a wonderful world wasn’t it? As long as this anti-Christ was in power, wasn’t it? Worst part of time the world’s ever known. Now he’s coming back and he’s going to set up his and it’s going to be like the Garden of Eden. You ever wish you could have lived in the Garden of Eden?
Lay around all day, Eden’s strawberries. I’m glad God made women. So they can pick the strawberries. I mean, you might not want to get up and go pick those strawberries. Just lay there and just… Honey. That’s another sermon. Okay, I’ve deviated just a tad. She was the only one that could actually say, and tell the truth. You know what an angel is? It was just like it. Always up in the air, nothing to wear, and always harping on something.
She was probably the only one that could say, I don’t have anything to wear. and be telling the truth. And our first close with the fig leaves. I’ll leave it along with just a bit of this. And the angel in verse 17 standing in the sun cry with a loud voice to all the fouls of the air to come and eat and feast upon the bodies of horses and the flesh of mighty men and captains and sheepmen princes all these people all get hey time to eat and all the birds are coming to feast.
There were the bodies, there were the eagles, be gathered together, which is also that verse mentioned there in the Book of Matthew, we read just a while ago that when he appears as the light and shed from the east to the west, that’s all going to happen. Now see how it’s in order? It just flows all together. And then he says there in verse 19, and I saw the beast, I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together make war against him that set of the horse and against his armies.
And this is what happened. So the beast the false prophet are people. They’re people and they’re going to suffer. In verse 20 and the beast was taken and with him the false prophet that worked miracles before him with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and then that worshiped his name. These both were cast alive into a state of mind. Oh, it’s just a state of mind. No, it’s a place, a real place. And they cast alive into the lake of fire burning with fire and brimstone.
And look what happens a thousand years later in verse 10, thousand years later. You see, well, what happened to the devil? Angel came down and got a hold of the old devil that old serpent, passed him to a bottomless pit and bound them there for a thousand years. So the thousand years upon the earth now is going to be without the devil and it’s going to be a wonderful time and the lion and the lamb will lay down together and the little children will have to worry about the snakes.
I doubt if there will even be one single mosquito there. In Minnesota and they told me there’s not one single mosquito in Minnesota. They were all Mary and had large families. Verse 10, and the devil that deceived with them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. This is a thousand years later, the beast and the false prophet are still there. They weren’t burned up, still there. And shall be tormented day and night for how long?
That’s the devil. I also always told you know the devil is running around in some red union suit with pitch, fork, and fork at tail, and little horns, you know. That’s when the pot would meet cans. And the devil’s down there, ruling down here in hell, you know, and you got to keep shelling that coal in there and so forth. And he’s in charge of hell. He ain’t in charge of nothing. He’s in the flames of fire for all eternity.
But anyway, kind of makes a man want to make sure he doesn’t go there. to make sure that you’re going to heaven when you die. Look up here. This is you and me. This hand represents you and me and everybody in the whole world. And all of the represent all the bad things that we do. God says He loves us, but He hates the whole bad thing that we do. But He says the pay for what we do wrong is eternal separation from God in a literal fire burning hell.
But He loves us and wants us to go to heaven. And to go to heaven, we have to be perfect as righteous as God. and none of us are perfect, none of us are righteous. So God says you can’t save yourself, you cannot earn your way to heaven. Heaven is not a reward that God gives to you because you deserve it. It’s not a reward. Heaven is a place, it’s where God lives, and he’s perfect, and you gotta be perfect to go there and because of sin, we can’t get in.
So the Bible says you cannot save yourself by your good deeds. We need a savior and you can’t save yourself. This hand represents Jesus Christ, He’s the Lord God and the flesh came into the world because He loves us, but He hates what we do wrong because it separates us from the Lord. So Jesus Christ who had no sin did not have to die, He came into the world, took our sins, paid for them on the cross, came back from the dead.
And He said if we would believe that He did it for us, He would put the payment to our account when you believe it and you get to go to heaven because He paid for all the sins. You don’t have to pay for any sin because He paid for it. You and I, we get to go to heaven because of what he did for us. God, God, so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. Now, who’s so ever?
Open invitation, you want who’s so ever? Believe it, if you’ll believe he did it for you. You would not perish means you will not go to hell. But have, present tense, right now, have everlasting life. We have eternal life and we get to go to heaven whenever we die, all because of what he did for us. We don’t go to heaven because of what we did for Him. But what He did for us. Let’s pray, shall we? If you hear it tonight and you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, why not just talk to the Lord and say something simple like this?
Lord, I’m a sinner. And that’s just being honest. Is He God already knows it anyway? But you have to admit it. By admitting you’re a sinner, you’re admitting you can’t save yourself. Because you have to be perfect to go to heaven. And by saying, I’m a sinner means you’re admitting I’m not perfect. All of us are in the same boat. But will you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross, paid for all of your sins? Paid for mine, paid for yours?
If you’ll believe He did it for you, He said, He would put that payment He made to your account, and you get to go to heaven on what He did for you. So would you right now say, yes, that made sense to me, and I’m going to trust Christ as my Savior and preach out like Peter, pray for me, and close in. Then would you just slip you in it very quickly, and put it up in and with all?
In and with all. If you’ve already trusted Christ to save you, you don’t have to do it again. But if you haven’t, would you do it now? I pray that you would. I plead with you. Just by faith alone, in Christ alone, would you trust Him? God knows you, He sees you, and He loves you. And He said, if you’ll trust Him, He will save you. Father, we thank you so much for this time together. Bless each one here.
