I Love prophecy I I enjoy the book of Revelation. We have talked about a time upon the year called the Tribulation Period. But anyway, let me explain something to you. We often talk about the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven. They’re not exactly the same thing. The Kingdom of God is like Jesus said, told Nicodemus, unless a man is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. you’re born again, you cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
So the kingdom of God is that spiritual realm by which anyone who trusts Christ is Savior from beginning to end is in the kingdom of God. We were in the kingdom of darkness, but when you trust the Lord you’re in the kingdom of light, so you’re in the kingdom of God. The period of time that we’re going to talk about tonight is known as the millennial reign upon the earth, this Davidic millennial kingdom. This is what was promised to the Old Testament nation of Israel about the kingdom that’s going to come.
So Christ, when he came, is the king of a kingdom. That’s also comes from the statements in the book of Daniel in chapter two and verse 43 and 44 where it talks about in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom upon the earth. So it’s the kingdom of heaven. So this period of time right here is the kingdom of heaven. So whenever you study the book of Matthew, you will find almost exclusively that title, kingdom of heaven.
And Behold is born unto you this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord, but He’s also referred to as the King, whereas He did His born King of Israel. So Jesus Christ is the King of Israel. He presented Himself as the only one who legitimately has the right to claim the throne of Israel. And so John the Baptist came in chapter 3 preaching the Kingdom of Heaven. In chapter 4 it talks about the Kingdom of Heaven and throughout the book, the Kingdom of Heaven.
So we know that the Kingdom of Heaven is because this should have been back here and they would have accepted the King and they would have had the Kingdom and so he is telling them how he’s going to rule the Kingdom and he will rule with a rod of iron. It means that he will be law, he will be King and he rules over all the other kings. That’s why it’s called the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
So he’s over everything and everyone during this year, thousand year reign upon the earth. Now look there in Revelation in chapter 20. Revelation chapter 20. We just came through the worst period of time upon the face of the earth. What is that called? The tribulation period upon the earth. The worst period of time known to man, which is right ahead of us. And if you look at the situation in the world, It doesn’t look very pretty. It’s gonna get worse and worse and worse.
And we are entering into a period of time where they will make a treaty with Israel. Of course, they will not keep their treaty because they do not keep their word. And in the middle of it, they’re going to break this peace treaty. And the last three and a half years is where the devil pours out his wrath. God is pouring out his wrath. So you don’t wanna be here. This is the bad time to be upon the planet Earth.
But at the end of that, the head of the last world government religion. The beast and the false prophet are going to be cast into the lake of fire. That’s chapter 19. That’s when Christ comes back at the end of the tribulation period and takes care of the situation at the Battle of Armageddon, where all nations will come against Israel against Jerusalem. And so he will set up his kingdom upon the year. Well, what happens to the devil at this point?
You see there in verse one, and I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit. and a great chain in his hand. And he lay hold on the dragon that old serpent which is the devil and Satan, all those names let you know who it is and bound him a thousand years. So you see, during this thousand years, that’s what the word millennial means, this thousand years, Satan is going to be passed into the bottomless pit where he will be for one thousand years.
You and I are going to be upon this kingdom for 1,000 years. It’s going to be just like the Garden of Eden. You’ve always wanted to be there, but we didn’t get a chance to enjoy that. So the day is coming when we’re going to be upon the earth for this 1,000 years. And then you’ll notice there in verse 3, and cast him into the bottomless pit. Shut him up, set a seal upon him that he should deceive the nations no more.
Till the thousand years should be fulfilled. After that he must be loosed a little season. So this is what’s going to happen to the devil. And so he will be there for 1000 years now looking verse 7. Verse 7 says, And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth. Gog and Magog, Gog refers to the Prince in land of refers to Magog, and to gather them, to gather to battle the number of whom is at the sand of the sea, and they went up on the breath of the earth encompassed the camp of the saints of Bob and the beloved city, which I believe is Jerusalem.
And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them, so much for this great big battle at the end of the millennial reign. Not much at all. the Lord takes care of that. So you not don’t have to worry about that. But what happens to the devil? He would put into a bottomless pit, thousand years later, he comes out, deceives those people that are still in the millennial reign and leads a rebellion at the very end against the Lord.
And then the Bible says in verse 10, and the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. Now the beast and the false prophet see what’s put in there at the beginning of the thousand years. They’re still there at the end of the thousand years. So it’s not like, well, we get there, but after a while, God’s gonna forgive us all and we’re gonna get out.
No, no, no, no, they’re still there. And the devil goes there and what happens to the devil? Well, they take up an offer in an air conditioned to place. No, look in the last part of verse 10. It says, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. So the devil and his angels, the beast, the false prophet, all in the same place, and they will be tormented forever and ever and ever. He will be in the lake of fire.
Now, because that is true, and I believe that it’s true, take your Bible and turn all the way back to the book of Matthew chapter 3. Matthew chapter 3. And just look at a few of these verses with me. You’ll notice there in chapter 3 where he talks about John the Baptist in verse 1. And verse 2 he says, saying, repent ye for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The kingdom of heaven is this period of time. Christ came and it was a legitimate offer, but He was rejected, remember, but that was the message at the beginning of Christ’s ministry, the beginning of John the Baptist ministry, to preach the gospel of the kingdom, and to the gospel of the kingdom is the same gospel that we preached because John 3 16 was at the beginning of Christ’s ministry and so that’s the same message
that John the Baptist was preaching that they should believe on him who came after him that they would believe on Christ. So this is mentioned about the kingdom of heaven. Look there in chapter 4. You’ll see there in chapter 4 and verse 17, from that time Jesus began to preach and to save repent for the Kingdom of Heaven. Is it hand? So they both, John the Baptist and Jesus were preaching the kingdom of heaven. Because they were going to set up the kingdom upon the earth.
So in the book of Matthew, which pictures Jesus Christ as the lion of the tribe of Judah, which pictures Jesus Christ as the king. He chooses his cabinet. He lays out his constitution of how he’s going to rule the kingdom. And so you find that, especially tart knocking chapter five, which is where I want you to look next. Look here in chapter five in verse three. When you talk about the beatitudes on the Mount, he says in verse three, blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the, and here’s that phrase again, kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of heaven.
So the kingdom of heaven is a period of time. It’s when the king from heaven sets up his kingdom. Now he was rejected, and so the kingdom was postponed and moved out into the future. But now look there in chapter 5 of the book of Matthew, and you’ll notice there are several places like in verse 19 where he says, Whosoever, therefore shall break one of these least commandments, shall teach men so, he shall be called the least where? In the kingdom of heaven.
But whosoever shall do and teach them the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. See, this is not talking about the church. The church hasn’t been mentioned. That was mainly revealed by the apostle Paul later in other scriptures, though he did talk about upon this rock, I will build my church. But that doesn’t mean he has started it yet. But look there in verse 20. In verse 20, we’ll let you see about this kingdom. He says, for I say unto you that, except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisees, you shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
All right, look up here. Those people who come out of the tribulation period, they’re those who have believed on the Lord. So when Christ comes back, there is going to be the judgment of the nations, judgment of the Gentiles. Israel will believe on the Lord when they see him and will be saved doesn’t it? So Israel will be the little seed like as a mustard seed that goes into the kingdom and becomes a great kingdom and all the birds and so forth coming rest underneath the branches of this great kingdom which is going to take place during this period of time.
Now there’s Gentiles who have trusted Christ as their Savior and they will go into the millennial reign upon the earth. Now they have regular bodies, they will still be able to have children, and so they will go into the kingdom. You and I, we went up here, we went to the marriage of the Lamb. Now we’re coming back with Christ, and we will rule and reign with Christ upon the earth for the thousand years. We will have glorified bodies.
You’ll see we’re not going to have that same body upon the earth that I have right now. I’m going to get another when you’re going to get another one, all of us are going to get another body and we will have a glorified body. We’ll have a perfect body. We will not have a sinful nature. We will never be able to see in ever anymore. And we’re going to be in positions of leadership, but the position of leadership that you have depends upon your service to the Lord now.
You mess up your life now. Now you’ll still get to heaven because you trust Christ as Savior. You’ll get into the kingdom because you trust the Christ is Savior. We will always be with the Lord. But how you rule with the Lord depends upon what you have done for Him. So that’s why we have been taken to the Jabbie and the Christ where we will be dressed in the righteous acts of the saints. We’ve gone to the Maryself of the Lamb and now we’re coming back to rule and reign with Christ.
But there are people who are going to be upon the earth and they will still have children. And I’ll show you something to buy that in just a second. But as you go down through here it talks an awful lot about the kingdom upon the earth, the kingdom upon the earth. Look there in chapter seven, looking verse 21. This is mainly where this verse is and what it’s referring to. Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Now we talk sometime we think about going to heaven. Now this is talking about the kingdom of heaven here. Not everybody gets into the kingdom of heaven. So that’s why you have to trust Christ as your Savior. When He made the statement, except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness described in the Pharisee, you shall know wise, enter into the kingdom of heaven. So you still have to have eternal life and go into the kingdom unless you’re one of those that were born into the kingdom.
And we’ll take a look at that in just a second. But now Now look in chapter 8 of Matthew. And you notice in chapter 8 it makes a statement here. In verse 11, and I say unto you that many shall come from the east from the west. So we know we’re on the earth, we’re not in heaven, we’re on the earth. Shall come from the east and shall sit down with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob where? In the kingdom of heaven.
But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Now, that’s children that will be in the millennium that they have up to 100 years to accept Christ as their Savior. If they don’t trust the Lord by the time they’re 100 years of age, they are considered a sinner and they’re cast out, and that’s why there’s verses that talks about they’re cast into outer darkness or cast out of the kingdom.
That’s those that are born into the kingdom and never trusted the Lord. see those are the same ones at the end of the millennium, Satan is going to be able to deceive. So there’s going to be lost people here in the millennium. Now, I want you to look there as you go down through the book of Matthew. It’s mentioned in chapter 13, look in chapter 13 real quick, chapter 13, it will refer to the period of time upon the earth, special like verse 11.
Look in verse 11, Matthew 13. He says in verse 11, He answered and sinned them because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the, and here’s that phrase, kingdom of heaven. Kingdom of heaven. It’s also mentioned there in verse 24, verse 24. Another parable put he forth unto them, saying the kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which soeth is good seed and so forth. Now you could apply many of the parables to the church age and where we live because some of the same principles are found to be true.
But the primary application is to the kingdom of heaven. It says the kingdom of heaven is like this. This is like this. This is like this. And it says it over and over and over again. Look there in chapter 13 and verse 31. Another parable put he forth in the kingdom of heaven is like unto a grain of mustard seed. In verse 33, the kingdom of heaven is like this. And as you go down through here, it keeps saying that verse 44, the kingdom of heaven.
Verse 45, the kingdom of heaven. Verse 47, the kingdom of heaven. And it’s all the way through, and you’ll see there in verse 50, and it says, shall cast them into the furnace of fire. there shall be wailing the nation of teeth. That’s because after a certain age, they are cast out of the kingdom. You see, you can’t be cast out of the kingdom if you’re not in the kingdom. But now this is not say people being cast out of the kingdom, which I’ve heard a lot of people teach that is, this is those who have not trusted the Lord, and therefore they are cast out of the kingdom.
When you get to Matthew in chapter 25, it talks about the 10 virgins. The kingdom of heaven is like this. When it talks about those three that had so many talents given to them and they doubled their money and so about the kingdom of heaven is like this. So if you take those and put it someplace else here, it doesn’t fit too good, but they will fit perfectly in the kingdom of heaven. Now, Take your Bible and turn very quickly to the 35th chapter of the book of Isaiah, 35th chapter of the book of Isaiah.
Now I’ve been to Israel enough to know that when I’ve been upon the the Golan Heights and you can see a long ways. There’s also places in Jerusalem on the eastern side of Jerusalem you can stand upon the hill and you can see down where the river Jordan flows down through there. On Jordan’s side it is death. Nothing grows. On Israel’s side, everything grows. It’s beautiful. Lot of fruit, grass, greenery, you name it, Israel’s got it and be. But on the other side of the river, just across the river, it’s nothing.
It’s like a desert. But look what he says here in verse 1, the wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose. This is during the kingdom time. Now we’re seeing a little bit of that even in our time, but it’s not the fulfillment of these scriptures, even though there’s a lot of similarities and history repeats itself, But there is a lot of good stuff that’s happening over there in Israel.
But it’s not the end of it yet. You look down there in verse 5, then the eyes of the blind shall be opened. The ears of the death shall be unstopped. Then shall Peter Amato leap as a heart, as a deer, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing for in the wilderness and shall waters break out in streams in the desert. Parts, grounds shall become a pool, thirsty land springs of water, inhabitants of dragons, where each day shall be grasped with reeds and rushes.
And they could be a highway from Egypt all the way through. So there’ll be the King’s highway. But there’s a lot of things that are going to happen during this period of time that has been prophesied for so long. This is the kingdom of heaven. Christ will be here. Abraham, Isaac, Jake, the alt gonna be here. This is going to be one joyous time. We just came through, or somebody did, this worst period of time on the face of the earth.
We were up in heaven, we come back down, and now this is the best time of all human history for people to really enjoy this wonderful place, this wonderful land. Now take your Bible and look into 65th chapter of the book of Isaiah. Isaiah chapter 65, Isaiah 65 and look there in verse 17. Verse 17, he says, For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth in the former shall not be remembered. nor come into mind. But be a glattering joys forever and that which I create.
For behold, I create Jerusalem, a rejoicing, and her people a joy. Boy, they have been through nothing but misery for over almost 3,000 years. But the time has come in where God is going to fulfill His promise that He made to Israel. You see, there can’t be peace on earth without the Prince of Peace. Well, he’s going to be here. He’s going to be here and there’s going to be peace. But look what he says in verse 19. He says, and I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people, and the voice of weep and shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
There shall be no more thence and infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days. For the child shall die a hundred years old, but the sinner being a hundred years old shall be accursed. In other words, if a person, a child that lived to be 100 years old in comparison to living to be 1000 years old, and you lived to be 100, you’re just a child. You know, like I’ve said before, you know, here’s Al back there.
He’s 80 something years old, right? All right. I’m 69. I’m just a pup. I’m just a child. But he’s talking about if you live to be a hundred, you’re just a child in comparison to a living to be a thousand years old. But if you haven’t trusted the Lord, I believe by the time that hundred years I think you’ve got troubles. That God put the curse and you probably will be dead or you’re going to die at that period of time.
So this is why our soul-winning days may not be over. You still may be able to win people to Christ you because there’s going to be a lot of people being born into the world and it says the increase of his kingdom, there’ll be no end. How many people, I don’t know, but remember, it says there is as many as the sands of the sea when the devil comes out at the end and that’s just those people that has to be within the hundred years at the end that he’s able to take those because I believe up to that point.
Now there was,num darit then died. Now there’s not a lot of details given about all of this stuff. So I’m just kind of hitting generically a little bit, but I believe the truth there, I still haven’t figured out all the little stuff on how God does everything. But I do know this, he compares a man’s life to the age of a tree. Now there’s trees that lived to be 500 or a thousand years old, especially some good old trees, but look what he says there, in this verse 21, and they shall build houses and and inhabit them.
They shall plant vineyards, eat the fruit of them. In the word, this will not be in vain. You’ll be able to eat the fruit of your labor. Never man will have his own fig tree. And this is where the women go get these strawberries and they feed them to us as we lay under the shade of the tree tree.
Amen. I knew you’d like that. I figured you would. Verse 22, they shall not build an another inhabit. They shall not plant in another eat, for as the days of a tree are the days of my people. And mine elects out long enjoy the work of their hands, long enjoy, see back before the flood, they lived almost a thousand years. Have you ever heard of a guy named Mafuzala? Now he lived 969 years now, I’ve already got the 69 years taken care of.
But can you imagine living another 900 years? Well, the way things are in the world, and the way that all of these problems and sicknesses, all that kind of, I don’t know if I’d want to live another 900 years. I’m not even sure of another 100 years. I wouldn’t mind giving a whirl. I’ve never died before. I just don’t want to hurt. But this is where you hear about, you know, sometimes people talk about this, but this is where you see it.
See there in verse 20, they shall not labor in vain, nor brain forth for trouble, for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and they’re offspring with the offspring. So that is gonna have to be offspring during this period of time. There’s kids gonna be born, they’re gonna live, they’re gonna grow up. Did you know it will probably just as difficult, trying to convince a kid here about the things that have already happened as it is now?
Because you can say, you know, we just came through seven-year tribulation period, yeah, yeah, yeah. Years like my mom scared me to death. At what age is it easier to win somebody to the Lord? Well, it seemed like this ought to be the easiest one. I mean, here’s Abraham and Isaac. There’s Jacob. There’s King David. They probably will not be any easier to convince of all of this than we are. Isn’t it true that in spite of everything God has revealed and this is where we are right now people still don’t believe it I don’t care how much you tell them You can tell them what’s gonna take place in the future Still won’t believe it well anyway Look what he says there in verse 24.
He said and it shall come to pass it before they call I will answer While they’re yet speaking I will hear I mean the Lord’s gonna be right here. He knows your thoughts And while you’re praying God already knows what you’re thinking and can be I mean it can be on its way. I Think it’s gonna be awesome And then look at verse 25 now you’ve heard about this here all your life just about the wolf and the lamb shall feed together Now you may don’t know this some of you city stickers a wolf likes to eat lamb Now lamb don’t eat wolf wolf eats the lamb it is unnatural natural for a wolf and a lamb to feed together.
But during this period of time, it will be. Did you know if they hadn’t been for the curse upon the earth that they probably wouldn’t hate each other back then? It was only afterwards after the curse upon the earth. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a teaching ministry of Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida with Dr. Ralph Arnold.
