What can wash your sins away? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Nothing but his blood. But there’s a reason why. The nature of the blood, I thought I’d throw this in here. When I went into boot camp, all the people got a little bottle of whisk and a little brush. We had to wash our own clothes and we had a little brush and we had to wash our clothes. Now this was new to me. was against my nature. And I couldn’t believe how that you could pour that whisk on air and just scrub it with that brush and makes it clean.
But here I have tied, whisk and chlorox may remove the stain of dirt from your clothes, but only perfectly innocent, incorruptible blood can remove the stain of sin from the soul. So you can take all the baths you want to. And it won’t wash your sins away. You can be baptized a thousand times in every church there is, and it will not wash away your sins. It won’t wash away the dirt off your neck unless you use soap with it.
And I would recommend tied whisk or claw rocks. Maybe there’s a bunch more. But there’s something that had to be done. That’s why no man can pay for another man’s sin because he’s guilty of his own. it would take somebody that’s innocent, that had incorruptible blood, superior blood, not contaminated, immune to sin, immune to death. And if we could have that blood transfusion, maybe it would help us. I used to sing a song years ago called Child of the King, once I was closed in the rags of my sins, wretched and poor, lost and lonely within.
Then with wonderful compassion the King of all kings in pity and love took me under his wing. Oh, yes, oh, yes. I’m a child of the King. His royal blood now flows in my veins and I, who was wretched and poor, now can sing. Praise God, praise God. I’m a child of the King. I needed the blood of the King in my veins. In other words, something that would keep me from being corruptible, sinful, perfect. What’s going to make me perfect?
Righteous, as holy God. This is why God had to do something for man. Now take your Bible and turn there to the next scripture. You have right turn your notes. The book of Luke and chapter 1 and verse 35. When Jesus was going to be born, an angel appeared to Mary and told her, says, you’re gonna have a child. She said, what? He says, you’re going to have a child. She says, I’m not going to have a child. I’m not married.
I don’t have a husband. He says, you got some news for you. An angel of the Lord will overshadow thee. And the angel of the Lord is going to place a seed in your womb. It’s not because of a man. A man is not going to do this to you. God is going to do this to you. So God needed a woman. In order that he might produce this superior man, he needed a man that did not have contaminated, corruptible blood.
So he says here in verse 35, and the angels answered and said unto her, the Holy Spirit, the goat shall come upon the, and the power of the Almighty shall overshadow them, therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of the shall be called the Son of God. The body, the blood, was not corruptible, as it says in 1 Corinthians in chapter 15 and verse 50. Flesh and blood. Hours, no. Can not give us eternal life. It has to come from some incorruptible blood.
Perfect blood, precious blood. They didn’t had the curse upon it. It would be a cure. And as I said here in your notes that there are those that have heard an awful lot about the Ebola virus that they’re having over there in Africa. They say there’s no cure for it. And so they’re feverically trying to find a cure. So if you take this and it’s to be a cure for this, but when there is no cure, people die. And there had been plagues that have hit this world at times and there had been no curing people by the thousands who died.
Well look at the human race. Every man born, they all die. We’re here just for a few years and then we all die. Wouldn’t it be needed if we didn’t have to die? Well then you’ll have to have a special kind of blood, a special blood, incorruptible blood. The life of the flesh is in the blood. So if Christ would ever give His life, He must shed His blood because the life of the flesh is in the blood. So that’s why the blood of Jesus Christ is precious because it contained His life, eternal life in that blood.
That’s why if it lasts forever, it has to be, well, if it’s eternal, it has to be perfect. So his blood was perfect blood, incorruptible blood. Jesus then was born without a sinful nature. He could have lived forever. He didn’t have to die. Jesus did not sin. Jesus did no wrong. There was no fault, no flaws in him. That holy thing shall be born of these shall be called the Son of the Son of God. And that’s who Jesus Christ was.
So out of all the people on the face of the earth, Jesus Christ was born with incorruptible blood. And He lived. And He made a payment. But first of all, want to take your Bible looking John in chapter 1, the Gospel of John in chapter 1. I could not die for your sins because I’m guilty of my own. You couldn’t die for somebody else regardless of how much you love them. You say, well, I’ll give up my life. You can give up temporary life here so that somebody else might live, but they’re still going to die.
Here in John chapter 1, look there in verse 29, verse 29, in an old scope of a reference Bible, one of the church’s Bible that’s 1115, page 1115. But notice what he says in verse 20, the next day John seeeth Jesus coming into him, and he said, Behold the Lamb of God, which take of the way the sin of the world. Somebody that was that holy thing has now grown up. Now he’s a man. John DeBadras had preached. He’s coming after me.
He’s mighty. He says, this one is the Lamb of God. What do you think he means? Behold the Lamb of God. What did they use lambs for in the Old Testament in the temple sacrifices? They were killed. But this is a lamb that only has to be killed one time and it would be sufficient for all mankind. This is why God says whenever you believe on Jesus Christ and his life was shed for you then this blood that was shed for you when you believe it, by faith, is put to your account.
And the Lord says, when And I see the blood. I will, what? I will pass over you. That’s why it’s called a Passover in the Old Testament. When Israel was down in Egypt, says they were to put the blood of the Lamb upon the doorpost and the linom. And when I see the blood, I’ll pass over you. Otherwise the firstborn in every home will die. Everybody. And multitudes of people died. because they did not apply that blood. So the Bible says, when I see the blood, I will pass over you.
This is why when you believe in the death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection, that’s the one who died and paid for your sins. But if you don’t believe it, that death payment, his blood is not applied to you. And you do not have eternal life, you don’t have eternal life, you will die, you you are corrupted, you will spend an eternity forever dying and never passing away, forever dying and yet never dying, separated from God, but you can’t be annihilated.
You will exist. It doesn’t have to be that way. So the Bible says Jesus Christ came. Look there in your notes. I want you to see this. That letter A, his blood was immune to the virus of sin. Jesus knew no sin. He cannot sin. There was nothing in him that could be defiled. Jesus was perfectly the Son of God. He never was wrong yet. He was tempted in all points like as we are yet without sin. So he had no sin to pay for it.
That’s why he could voluntarily, willingly, become the serum that you need for curing that old sinful nature that you have. Without that serum, you have no hope. And you wonder, well, why am I like I am? Why do I do the things that I do? Why am I so mean at times? Why do I feel so ugly at times? That’s why you have corruptible blood and there’s a serum for it and if you reject this serum the only thing that God has ever provided then you will have no hope so in the next statement Christ’s blood was the serum for everlasting life as in the outbreak of the Ebola there is a need for a serum that will destroy the virus.
John 29 Christ was the only New kinsmen with the only perfectly innocent, incorruptible blood. It not just to be a near kinsman, he was a new kinsman, a new kind of a human being. Somebody born into this world of a virgin birth. That’s why he could not have a human father. If he had a human father, his blood would be no different than ours. So it’s not of us trying to manufacture somebody that has pure blood. And then we all take the serum.
No, no, no. God sent his son into the world. Perfectly righteous and he was born without a man as his father and gave him perfect, incorruptible blood. was willing to shed his blood so that you and I could take his life, eternal life, because outside of that we don’t have eternal life. You’re not born with eternal life, or you exist forever, but that’s not life. You’re a forever dying. So God’s talking about something special. Now look there in your book of Galatians turn to your right to the book of Galatians, the book of Galatians and chapter 3.
And look in verse 13, realizing who Christ is, why His blood was so important. If He had blood like the rest of us, He could not have helped us. In verse 13, Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, because the law condemns every person who is not perfect. You’re not perfect, you’re condemned. So am I, everybody. So he says Christ had to redeem us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us. It’s like Christ gave me His blood that was incorruptible and He took my sinful, incorruptible blood.
He died and I live. And every person who believed that He did it for them, God gives them eternal life. Now I know there’s a lot of spiritual truth in what I’m talking about, but for your understanding, realize the only thing you need to know is you’re a sinner. You’re corrupted. You’re not perfect. We all sin. We’re all going to die. There’s only one cure. Only one cure. And that’s the death of Jesus Christ as the payment for our sins.
And because he shed his blood for us, he died for us so that you and I, by believing that he did it for us, would have as a free gift ever lasting life. And he came back from the dead and ascended into heaven. And when he went to heaven, there is where he took his blood and offered it upon the altar. That is where God accepted. He had to come back from the dead. He was raised for our justification.
If he had just died and stayed dead, it would have benefited no one. So this is why it is so important. So he says here in verse 13, for it is written cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. Means he’s paying a price. He’s paying a debt. When Christ hung on that cross, he was paying a debt that he did not owe. But he was making a payment for you and I. Take your Bible and turn there to the book of Hebrews in chapter 9.
Hebrews in chapter 9. Hebrews chapter 9 and look in verse 11. Verse 11, so important to see these truths on the pages, on the Scripture. Verse 11, and when Christ be in come a high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands. That is to say, not of this building, neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood. He entered in once into the holy place in heaven, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
He made a payment that was eternal means it was sufficient for all my sins from beginning to in for eternity. He made one payment. He shed his blood on that cross, came back again from the dead. And the Bible says he put and plaid his blood in the holy place, in the tabernacle that’s in heaven, an eternal redemption. It means that one payment he made 2,000 years ago is sufficient for all the sin of all the world to whosoever believes.
Now some people will. Some people will not. But that’s a choice of theirs. But the word of God is simple. A verse I want you to also see is Acts chapter 20. Look there very quickly Acts in chapter 20. This verse is a very powerful verse. It’s a great verse. And you’ll notice in the book of Acts in chapter 20, look what he says in verse 28, verse 28. Oh I love to hear the rustling of the leaves. People turn in and find it.
You just don’t, that you can go to a lot of churches and they don’t even have to take their Bible. Because the priests don’t even use them. You come here, you’re going to learn the Bible. We’re going to teach you the Bible. Here in Acts chapter 20, look in verse 28, take heed therefore, unto yourselves and to all the flock over the which the holy goes hath made you overseers to feed the Church of God, which He hath purchased with what?
Is that what the book says? If He purchased me with His own blood and the life of the flesh is in the blood, if He wants to give His life, He has to shed His blood. This is incorruptible blood. This is perfect blood. This is precious blood. This is the blood that He made as a payment for our sins. And He went into that, see in the Old Testament, the high priest was going to the Holy of Holy, and He’d take the blood of bulls and goats, and He had offered upon them once a year for His sins and for the sins of the people, and hope that He could get out alive.
And the next year, He’s got to do it again, and again, and again. But now when Christ came, He made one payment for all time in eternity. He only came into this world one time make a payment for our sins. The reason he don’t have to come down next year and pay for what I did this year is because it was sufficient when he died one time. That was an eternal payment, eternal redemption. I’m not making this up. I’m telling you what the book says.
And this is why once you are saved, you are eternally saved. If you can lose your salvation you do disgrace to the blood of Christ, that the payment that he made, it wasn’t sufficient, it wasn’t long enough. Or I can commit a sin in the future and that can cause me to lose everything. Then he died for nothing. But he did die and it was not in vain. That’s how I know I’m going to heaven when I died, not because I’m good, but because he was good.
He was perfect and he made a payment for my sins. In the book of 1 John, and I’ll just mention this very quickly. The newness of the blood today is as fresh as it was when it flowed in his veins. The blood of Jesus Christ is today as fresh as when it flowed in his veins. And this is why as a child of God in 1 John 1 John 1 verse 7 that as we walk with the Lord and talk with the Lord and we live for the Lord and when we do things that are not right, the blood of Jesus Christ continually keeps me clean.
You see, he used an illustration about those that needed a bath and those he just wanted to wash their feet. You see, you can be saved, you don’t need another bath. But as you walk back and forth in this world and live in here, you’re going to get your feet, little dirty. And so God was washing her feet. To let you know that once you’ve trusted Christ in Savior and as you walk in this world and you get a little contaminated here now, the blood of Jesus Christ continually cleanses and keeps us clean.
That’s how I’m saved, saved, saved. It’s a wonderful thing to know. Take your Bible turn now to the book of 1 Corinthians, the book of 1 Corinthians. There’s just two things that I want to bring to your attention. Number one, find in 1 Corinthians chapter 11, verse 25 and 26. If it shows something when you take the Lord’s Supper, what would it show if you don’t? You see there in verse 26, for as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you do show the Lord’s death till he comes.
It shows what you believe about what he did and what he’s going to do. But if you don’t do that, and you don’t take the Lord’s Supper, that show something? If doing it does show something, then not doing it would also show something, wouldn’t it? What would it show? God says, do not take the Lord’s Supper in vain, meaning unworthily, means you didn’t examine your life. It means you didn’t apply the blood of Christ to your daily walk. You haven’t confessed things that’s between you and him.
You’re not staying clean like you ought to. And And then to do it, you’re not discerning the Lord’s body. You’re not understanding some spiritual truth. The second thing I want you to see there in verse 27, where he says, in verse 27, wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily shall be guilty. But I wrote down in your notes, failure to examine your life or to partake will produce guilt that God will judge And a few verses down, verse 30, 31, 32, God will judge because you’re doing something and you’re guilty of a crime.
You’re guilty of a sin against God because you’re making mockery out of something. The Lord’s Supper is not a frivolous thing. It’s a serious thing. It’s a godly thing. It’s a divine appointment by God. The Lord’s Supper is a divine table. It’s called the Lord’s Table. It’s not our table, it’s the Lord’s Table. And when we come, we’re supposed to have respect of what this bread, this body, what it represented. And we’re to have respect under what this blood represents, the grape juice.
It represents the blood of Christ. This is not how you get Christ. We don’t believe in trans-estangiation that if you take it, now I got Christ, I mean, no, no. I trusted Christ as my Savior 53 years ago and He ended up with me that moment and never has to be done again. But for the last 53 years, I keep looking back to what he did, and I keep looking forward to what he’s going to do, the best thing I ever understood.
So I call it a night of remembrance. This is why this is a memorial service for us to remember. We have been redeemed with the precious blood. Letting this hand represent you and me. But while it represents sin, we all have sin on us. See, we’ve all sinned. We’ve all done things wrong. We’ve all failed. We are corruptible. We’re sinful. We’re rebellious. But God loves us. But He’s a just God. We committed the sin. It has to be paid.
Eternal separation from God. But He loves us and wants us to go to heaven. To go to heaven, you have to be as righteous as God is. Perfect as God. None of us are perfect. None of us are righteous. We’ve all sinned and come short of His perfection. God says, you cannot earn your way to heaven. There’s nothing you can do. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. There’s nothing you can do about it. You can’t change you.
That’s what you are. It’s what I am. We’re sinners. We’re guilty. We have to die. But God in heaven has a way. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came into this world. He was born and he lived. He had incorruptible blood. He didn’t have to die. He had no sin. But because he loved us, he took all of our sins and was willing to shed his blood to pay for our sins. Came back from the dead and said that if we would believe that he did it for us, he would put the payment he made to your account.
You see, you become immune. When you trusted Christ as your Savior, I have eternal life. This old body, yeah, it’s going to die one day, but I will live with the Lord forever. So I’m going to live till I die and live forever. Best news in all the world. If you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, the blood has never been applied. As far as you’re concerned, He died in vain, because it won’t benefit you one aeota. You must believe, that’s why God says, for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, the who so ever, believe it than Him should not perish.
But if you don’t believe it, you will perish. You’ll spend eternity separate from God in hell. But if you’ll believe it, you say, you shall have everlasting life. I have everlasting life. I’m one to heaven when I die. Stop because I’m good, because he is. He loves you so much. He would rather die than live without you. You are loved. Let’s pray, show it. But here’s Bob and I’s clothes and no one looking around. Why not right now in the quietness of this moment, friend, if you’ve never done it before, say, Lord, I know I’m a sinner and I don’t understand at all.
I got questions, I got doubts, but I want to go to heaven when I die and I know that I’m guilty. But I believe you and you died, you died for me. I believe you pay for my sins and right now I’m going to trust you as my Savior. For in God said, if you would trust him, he would save you, give eternal life, never cast you out, never lose you. Friend, would you believe that? Would you trust him?
And if you’ll make that decision, I’d I like to know, I like to have prayer for you. I’m not gonna embarrass you. I’m not gonna have you forward. But I’m gonna ask you if you just raise your hand very quickly and put it right back down. So, I pray to that made sense to me. And right now I will trust Christ as my Savior. I wanna be certain of one to heaven. And I want that blood applied to me.
I want His death to be my death, to pay for my sins. And if you’ll do that, would you just slip your hand very quickly and put it right back down? Anyone at all? Just very quickly slip it up and put it right back down. If you’ve already trusted Christ as your Savior, it’s the best thing in the world. Just God bless you. Anyone else? Anyone else? Just very quickly. Our Father, we thank His again for your blessing. Thank You for giving us the free gift of everlasting life.
We ask Your blesses now upon the individual indicating that they would trust Your Savior because whoever does so, you guarantee them eternal life. Father, we also pray that as we partake of your supper, realizing what it means. Understand it perhaps maybe just a little bit more, that each person here will examine themselves and Father, the first thing is between you and them that they would confess that and the blood of Christ continually keeps us clean. We’re thankful for that knowledge.
So bless each one Christ and we pray. Amen. Hello, this is Peter Amada with Bibleline and we hope that you’ve enjoyed today’s program.
